My favorite teams
So here's a run down of the updated situation.
They won't become the new Nordiques de Québec, they won't even be in Canada.
NHL has a tentative deal with Renaissance Sports & Entertainment to keep the Coyotes in Glendale, Renaissance also has a lease agreement in place for fifteen years.
The deadline is July 2nd to close out all the details of the deal or the league will sell to a Seattle group and the relocation will occur to there.
The Peoria Rivermen were to move to Seattle apparently, but the league told the Canucks no because the city wasn't "available". The Rivermen, of course, are now the Utica Comets.
