Season 1 was....ok. Season 2 left much to be desired.

but I'm four episodes into season 3 right now and it's banging.

Good show. Not as good as the OG Avatar:The Last Airbender show, but good. Season 2 is definitely the weakest, although the origin stuff was cool.

Understandably, a lot of people on this board wouldn't watch this stuff because they think it's too childish without probably ever watching it. It is more directed for a younger audience, but ATLA is one of the best shows I've seen, even when I did a rewatch when I was like 19. Korra is a little bit more adult.

I love Rocky & Bullwinkle that's childish AF. Houston and myself almost never see eye to eye on anything entertainment related. He thinks City of God with is a nice movie, is better than The Godfather, I just can't take him seriously.

Yeah, it doesn't have the same drive that the original series did. Korra has no real goal she's working to from season to season.

And the best parts of both season 1 and 2 were the origin stories. In fact I remember when I first watched the 2nd season as it aired (I never made it to the 3rd) I thought to myself that I would rather watch a series about that first avatar.

Each season has its own thing, which makes it a little less cohesive but does explore a number of areas(industrialization/lost connection to tradition and elements, spirituality,pain,etc.). I do agree that the drive in the original series was better. Like I said, more continuity. There was definitely character development, but there wasn't anything like, for example, Zuko's arc in the newer series.

And I would love for a full series about the original avatar.

Definitely not as good as the original. I stopped watching halfway through season 2 but if season 3 is good then I might burn through it over the Easter weekend while laying out on the beach having a few.
