I'm a scratch-off junkie...use to play that every day....have cooled on it a little...

Reason I ask? Just bought a cpl powerball tix...it's up to $220Million...

popular misconception is you get all the money at once...

it comes in annual payments(there are other options of payment but IIRC you cant get it all at once)

i mean you still get alot of money each year, but you dont get the whole jackpot all at once

plus you'll get taxed to death

that doesnt mean that you wont get alot of money when you win the lottery..but idk just something to think about

although wasting a couple of dollars to not hear your numbers called once in a while isnt too bad now is it? there are worse ways to spend a couple of dollars of loose cash

You can get a lump sum...I believe the lump sum for the $220M is about $118M...but you'll still be taxed on $220M...which is how they "get ya"...you can't afford the taxes unless you take a lump sum.

They take over half on taxes, 220 million means prolly like 102 million take home...I LIKE IT!

Yeah if you take the lump sum and pay taxes it comes to about 30% of the jackpot...but I could deal with that
