I love how some morons think that because the East has more teams that Quebec and Toronto can't be expansion candidates anymore

Not a fan of this at all and is going to take some time to get used to. Also, not a fan of the proposed changes to the playoffs. Hate seeing the Blackhawks as the only original 6 team in the division/conference. Have to feel for anyone that is in the "west" as the travel is just going to be a lot more grueling for any team compared to out "East".

I know many will say that Detroit isn't that big of a rival anymore...but a Chicago vs Detroit game is something special with a lot of history. Going to hate not watching them go at it as often.

Still twice a year, and we get the other 4 Original Six teams an extra time...

Lose 4 against Detroit, gain 4 against the others combined, even.

Just not the same for me and will take some getting used to. Might be even in games overall, but losing Detroit is rough right now. Overtime it will become normal, just like when they switched the road/home jerseys after I was used to the home whites pretty much all my life.

Love the Detroit - Chicago rivalry. Still an all time classic in my books and one I have looked forward to every time since I have been a Blackhawks fan.

I believe it was even said somewhere the realignment is on a season-to-season basis, and that future expansion/relocation could that this realignment gets realigned in the future.

Have to figure that there will be some changes in the future, and as you said, I'm sure the NHL/NHLPA will tackle them as needed.

I personally would have been fine with the the Jets and Wings(or CBJ) simply swapping Conferences and everyone continuing their everyday business.

I remember seeing someone else's suggest re-alignment doing exactly that, with Columbus, to keep the Hawks-Wings rivalry intact.

That would have been ideal. However, it does make sense for CBJ/Detroit to be in the East. I hate a game in San Jose, Van, LA, etc when it starts at 9:30...just imagine at 10:30 start. Probably hurts the ratings in Detroit/CBJ and the fans can't be thrilled with it.

I understand that, some other people seem not to, which is what I was commenting on. The Realignment is to be reviewed/adjusted in 2015
