President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.

GE leaves USA

General Electric is moving its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Beijing, China.
In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States in 2010, but paid no taxes - the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the united States.

Yep, just like Al Gores "stimulus money" for his Tesla electric cars built in Finland.

What countries are we really paying to "stimulate"?

At least Solyndra was a U.S. company.

So we can safely say that there is no coincidence with this and GE/NBC and its networks as to how they treat the current POTUS?

Of course, but many don't even notice it.

At what point does the public as a whole stop making excuses for this man that we elected as POTUS?

Epic is an understatement.

Yep, they're doing everything possible to deflect attention away form the 3+ years of rising debt and rising unemployment.

Two things about this thread- 1) Search engine, and 2) The hockey term "trailer".

Search engine should be obvious. But as a "trailer" you wait for the uniformed to post until one makes a comment.

WAUKESHA, Wis. -- GE Healthcare has announced that it will move its global X-ray headquarters from Waukesha to Beijing, China.

The business unit had been headquartered in Waukesha since 1972.

The move will result in four management positions being moved to China, and will not result in any job cuts in Waukesha.

Company officials said the move will help GE focus on distributing products in China, as well as help them to train health care professionals in the Far East.

So four fucking management postions have gotten sheeple people on this board in an uproar. But not a single one of you checked that through a search engine. Wake up.

There's no doubt in mind that GE has committed a much worse digression, albeit legal. Much like a shit load of other companies, GE most likely struck a deal to share their technology with China in order to gain access to the Chinese market. In several years they'll be fucked.

This is an article that should annoy the living shit out of all. Keep your eye on the prize.

http://fcw.com/artic...pply-chain.aspx

In a day-long Senate Armed Services Committee hearing addressing the issue of counterfeit parts in the U.S. military supply chain, top Capitol Hill officials proposed new rules that would hold contractors responsible for fake electronics destined for U.S. weapons systems.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the committee’s ranking Republican, and Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), committee chairman, were among the officials who questioned defense contractors on oversights that allowed the phony parts into the supply chain during the hearing, held Nov. 8. Levin stressed that the counterfeit goods are a “clear and present danger” and a “threat to our troops.”

“There is a flood of counterfeits and it is putting our military men and women at risk and costing us a fortune,” Levin said.

The two senators pledged that they would use the 2012 Defense Authorization Act, which McCain said he hoped would be taken up next week, to modify acquisition rules and make contractors responsible for the costs of replacing the fake parts. The hope is that contractors will implement tougher standards on their suppliers.

McCain said that encouraging small businesses to operate in the U.S. military supply chain has enabled the entry of fraudulent companies and parts.

McCain and Levin’s amendment may also include language for a new Pentagon certification process that would scrutinize the suppliers of components for military systems, Levin said.

A month-long congressional investigation yielded at least 1,800 cases of counterfeit electronics in U.S. weapons, with an estimated 1 million parts suspected of infiltrating the supply chain, according to the Washington Post. Counterfeit parts have resulted in millions of dollars in waste and have cost taxpayers heavily once contractors realize the parts must be replaced, the report said.

Brian Toohey, president of the Semiconductor Industry Association, told the committee that counterfeiting costs U.S. companies $7.5 billion per year and represents 11,000 lost jobs in U.S. industry.

Counterfeit parts have been found on at least 7 Air Force aircraft made by Boeing, Lockheed Martin and L-3, according to committee documents, and the Missile Defense Agency has encountered at least 7 incidents of counterfeit parts on its own systems, MDA Director Lt. Gen. Patrick O’Reilly testified.

That really is pretty funny. I think you are the only one in an uproar as you proclaim.

Some of us just took the story for what it is worth. The head of GE who shirks their responsibility to pay taxes is also brought in by the current adminsitration in the White House to create jobs. The fact that ANYTHING associated with him has moved to China is an insult no matter how large or small it may actually be.

Yeah, I personally didn't blink an eye about the jobs (other than the one of Immelt being named Jobs Czar).

Lets not forget Obama also tabled the oil sands pipeline thereby eliminating thousands of potential jobs in the Dakotas, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. Canada is shopping those oil sand petroleum products to Asia.

They sure do seem to be good at creating jobs in Asian markets.

That decision or at least the lack of their ability to make a decsision was absolutely disgusting. The media has swept that right under the rug. That project now will be on hold at least until the next election is over. By not making a decision they decided to appease their "green friendly" advocates while costing thousands of jobs not to mention lower costs for all the consumers. Add it to the list of Epic.

That decision is equally horrid as the one made by NLRB stating Boeing can not open a plant in South Carolina.

Jobs? Yeah, they are really worried about creating them................

Oh hold on now. According to your trailer buddies on this thread you all told me that if a company is given legal tax breaks and allowances then they would be fools to deny them and shouldn't be chastised for paying "what they owe". Seems GE has legitimate breaks on taxes to the point that they get refunds.

So which is it? They are evil or they are doing what any other good business would do?

What you small business champions love to ignore is that our economy is part of a GLOBAL economy. Your anti-foreign involvement in every last little aspect of business conveniently ignores the past 4,000 years of international business deals, most especially the last 200 years of international business deals that America has been a part of. Isolationism doesn't work. No one buys your shit and you go broke. They also don't buy your shit if you aren't willing to buy theirs.

That's all any of this is. International business negotiations with countries like China for the express purpose of changing our foreign/domestic GDP balance. GE gets a presence in China so that we can manufacture products and technologies here and sell them to the Chinese.

In this specific case, four employees of GE (most likely with residences and tax responsibilities in AMERICA) are going to start working out of an office in China. BFD.

anyone else kinda take issue with calling them czars. I dunno who came up with the term but for about 50 years the russians, i.e. soviets were our enemies. Now in our government we are calling people czars? I know I'm tinfoil hatting it but still

Obama is in bed with GE and his buddies, the same way Bush was in bed with Haliburton and his oil company buddies. These are the people that got them elected. You don't think they're going to take care of them now that they are in power? The entire system is corrupt and broken completely beyond repair. Do you guys really believe anything you read on the internet or watch on TV from these major "news" outlets? The large majority of it is half-truths, or just straight out fucking lies. Every story is put out there with an agenda. The guys printing the news are in bed with the guys they are printing the news about. One side smears the other side, while hiding the ugly truths about their side. The truth is buried beneath millions and billions of dollars, and will never actually come out. Been that way for years now. I would love for an honest reporter with some gigantic balls to go out and follow all this money going around, and tell people the REAL truth.

This thread and all the other political threads on this forum just show me that the crooks running this country have the people exactly where they want them. Divided, confused, blinded, desperate, and completely oblivious to the truth. Why we all argue so fucking much and defend one side or the other when BOTH sides are obviously fucked up beyond saving, is beyond my comprehension. WE'RE ALL ON THE SAME FUCKING SIDE. THE COMMON MAN'S SIDE. **** ALL of these politicians, people. WAKE THE **** UP. NONE OF THEM REPRESENT YOU, THE CITIZEN. STOP DEFENDING THEM!

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and there is no better an example than the current state of this country. From the government, to financial institutions, to wall street, to big business, the examples are EVERYWHERE. We are so desperate for hope and a politician that isn't a fucking lying piece of shit, that we are deluded into believing one side is better or worse than the other. Bush was a selfish, greedy, lying fucking piece of shit, and our current POTUS is a selfish, greedy, lying fucking piece of shit too. There is a 99.9% chance that the next guy will be a selfish, greedy, lying fucking piece of shit too. But keep on towing the company line folks! Hold onto that faith that either the Democrats or the Republicans actually have our best interests at heart, and once elected, will actually try and make things better for the average Joe. As long as they and their own are taken care of(and NONE of those mother ******* are in danger of going hungry, ever), they simply don't give a **** about us. The same way the CEOs at your big business don't give a **** about their employees as long as they get their money.

Again, WAKE UP.

I'm with ya Supra.

The czar label makes it seem as if they are all powerful rulers of their departments when in fact they are advisors.

The label has been used for decades.

It was more of a rant than anything else, but I really meant every word of it. This isn't just limited to this board and the members, either. Most of my family and friends are just as deluded. It doesn't matter how much I point out that both sides are identical in their immoral behavior, or lying, It doesn't matter how much I try to reason with them. They just don't seem to get it. They don't want to believe that "their side" is guilty of the same bullshit they are bitching about the "bad guys" doing, regardless of how many examples are given. It is very hard for people to come to the realization that their is no hope for the current system of government. Or, the harsher truth that their votes really don't matter.. At the end of the day, you're essentially voting for the same exact type of person. They just cater their lies to one side or the other in order to get elected.

This is what I try to say from time to time, although I skew towards the conservative aspect. In either case we are fucked. My TOP priority is The Fair Tax and that is why I lean towards candidates who claim to want to implement it. Whether or not they will, once elected, is unknown to me. I can only go on what they say. That is why, for all his faults, I am still a supporter of Cain.
