Bedard time!!!

No, the Hawks are not passing up, trading down, or thinking about Adam Fantilli over Connor Bedard.

Bobby Macs draft list came out and it's pretty much everything expected.

What I think- The Hawks are going to take Cristall at 19, then pray Edstrom is there at 35 which, might be wishful thinking or use some of those seconds and move up.

Not a fan of Cristall at 19. But....he's Bedards best friend and I just don't see them taking anybody over him unless a big time name falls. And you can say what you want about his skating and Kane-like reluctance in his own zone, but he's a top offensive guy in a stacked draft, probably a top five offensive talent.

If they can nab Edstrom or Stramel with 35, you have an ultra solid 3c in the fold and in Edstroms case move up to 2c when needed.

The drop off starts around pick 48. They need to package some of those late picks and get another shot within those 48.

They need to get at least 3 nhl players from this draft. It's never going to be this good for another few years.

The elite prospects guy said on that one chicago podcast with the creepy guys if Cristall isn't on a team's first line he's not an nhl player.

So I'm taking back that the Hawks will draft him. If he's that useless I don't think Davidson is going to waste such an important pick.

I'm starting to like Simashev. Alot.

Big, tough defensive defenseman who dont take anybodys shit.

My take is, obviously Bedard at #1....trade up for Moore if they can.....maybe at 11 with the supposed Vancouver trade. But don't draft Cristall just because he is Bedard's friend.....team first!!! if no trades, then hopefully someone falls to #19. But I don't see the BHs keeping all of those picks. IF #48 is the 'drop off point' for the top players, then use picks in trades to get 4 and hopefully 5 of the top 48 players. From what I'm reading, if the BHs draft a D-man they are looking for RHD with plenty of LHD in the system.

update  .....just saw the BHs draft pick positions....seems they already have 4 of the top 48 picks.....like to see them trade up to get a 5th pick in the top 48.....that would be quit the haul!

If Moore is really projected at 18, and if he falls to 18, I highly doubt it, the Hawks need to use one of those second rounders and get him.

If you can get yourself two centers this draft your putting yourself in good shape. I'm not sold on Nazar as an NHL center just yet and a big center down the middle in the future would be great. (Altho Moore isn't too big)

Still....idk if you pass on Simachev at 19. Big touch defenseman who actually play defense are like water in the desert here. I also think he gets to the nhl faster then Rinzel will.....

I've seen mocks that place Oliver going 7th th Philly down to 18th....but most mocks have him 7-12 range... whoever they get with their 2nd 1st rounder, I just hope they hit on that pick also. but you're right...2 Centers from this draft in the 1at round would be big!!!

2 centers? Is Bedard going to be a center? Some scouts in the league think he’ll be a wing.

Chances are he starts as center and only moves to wing if he can't handle it. Personally, my money is on him being a center unless his FO% is as bad as Kirby Dach's at the NHL level.

I am originally from Chicago. I grew up on Long Island ( 70's and 80's the Islanders had an awesome team ) but have not rooted for a hockey team for years. Like 30 + years. But I have always liked the Blackhawks logo. As said, I am from Chicago. As luck would have it they won the NHL draft lottery, when it was a very good year to have the #1 overall pick!

I am going to buy the jersey. Like I said, it's cool. Has Connor Bedard, the #1 overall pick selected his number with the team yet? Is he guaranteed to select 98? I will have to own it as he is what ultimately drew me in. And the goaltender we drafted in round two covers a lot of the net. I think a player of this size is the future of the position. He is quick. What until he matures.

A 17 and 18 year old can not play and generally compete with men. But these two draft gems have a real chance to shine. I would not be shocked if Conner isn't one of the best players in the NHL within three years. He should score 40 goals in his rookie season if he is healthy.

A team has to be strong to C and G in NHL hockey in my humble opinion and we got those players in the 2023 draft in 2023. Now if the NHL would only go to Olympic style playing surfaces ( I love the extra ice, it will open up the crisp passing and scoring ) and put in a two point shot when a player is past the blue line ( no tip in's for 2 ). Things I think would take the game to the next level. What do you think?

Well, this is my new hockey team and my first post.

Can't say I blame you, between the trolls and now the million threads of click-bait articles. I'm probably on the way out too.

I am new. Is this board infected with troll and bots? Send in the 1980's Goons if so.

Before the B-Hawks got the 1st pick, there was hardly any activity in this forum. Now a couple posters are mad that instead of 5 posts per week max, there's actually threads and posts being made. It is very odd. Welcome though.

I'm so glad the Beehawks forumn has been revived. It used to really suck under previous leadership.
