My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
He doesn't suck right now. He's making a lot of mistakes right now for sure. And most of us who follow the NFL for the last bunch of years knew that he was going to make a lot of mistakes right now. We knew this in our gut and we knew this in our minds. We are human beings and the one way we, as human beings, learn things is by making mistakes. You can see that by looking at your own life--go ahead, look for times times in your own life when things were going poorly for you, when you were struggling. My bet is that if you looked for those times, you would see that they weren't much fun for you at all--obviously-- BUT you will also see that there was learning going on. You learned things by making the mistakes you made. When you look at the great times in your life, the easy times, you'll see they were much more enjoyable. But you'll also notice that there wasn't a lot of learning going on. The same is true for me.

We don't really learn skills by talking or by reading or by watching--we can talk, read and watch how to play the piano for decades and we won't learn how to play the piano, which is a skill. There is only one way for us to learn how to play the piano and that's playing the piano. And the learning happens when we make mistakes playing the piano.

Same with Fields. He's playing in the NFL for the first time this year. And he's making mistakes. And he's learning from those mistakes.

Many of us knew that he was going to be doing this during this process. It seems like there were many who weren't expecting that. Maybe those people, you among them, don't understand some basic truths about how people learn skills.

Hope this helps.

That's a long way to write he'll get better at a skill by working on it. Well no shiz Sherlock.

This is a bit of wishful thinking without the All 22. Bears WRs struggle with separation and if guys were not open then Dalton does nothing.

Our only real chance of winning today was Fields running wild and forcing GB to cheat against his running to open holes in the passing game. He is trying too hard to be a classic pocket QB.
He’s a pocket passer who scrambles occasionally. Wilson type mold

Justin Fields on endzone INT: ‘I think everybody in the stadium thought that was a free play’

Except the refs

I understand why he thought it was a free play .... but that does not mean he overshoots the WR by a mile and throws it straight into the defender's gut .... that's the issue here .... again, that play had minimal impact since a punt results in the same end result, but the point is at least give ARob a chance to win a 50/50 ball, instead of expecting ARob to be superman

Did you not see ARob streaking wide open on one play that they clearly showed ? The packers were playing garbage at CB …. Yes any average QB tears them up at home ….. watch what happens rest of the year and then comeback to me …. Hell Mac Jones would tear this packers D up at home

Yes I did and I criticized him for it. That does not change the fact that was the anomaly not the norm. Further he had to move on that play so there is no guarantee Dalton gets that play off as he may have just gotten sacked.

that maybe an accurate assessment ….. but today he cost us the game when the entire team played really well ….. he was the weak link on this team … the Bears D came to play …. The OL blocked well and opened run holes …. A no name rookie RB balled and almost got 100 yards with a TD ….. KMet showed up …. Jakeem Grant did his job well …. But one player cost us the win …. Hopefully he will get better with time…. But right know the knock on him (which is why he fell in the draft) was he cannot process info quickly and that is evident when he holds onto the ball for 5 secs with no pressure and then sails his throw over WRs repeatedly …. Sometimes straight to the opposing team

Oh I agree he likely cost us the win. I disagree Dalton would have changed things. The path to winning today was his running. He likely could have rushed for 100 yards today. Dalton cannot do that.

Desai is fine. Unless you expect him to be able to cover and tackle, which the Bears safeties cannot do.

Hard to blitz too much when 1. You really have only one DB who can cover consistently in man 2. Your safeties are prone to giving up huge plays and can't tackle.

Yeah Desai has been the main bright spot. Quinn and Mack are playing well because Desai is scheming sack opportunities.

If Jackson was an average safety this would easily be a top 5 D. The dude is giving up a TD worthy play a game.

Sure but gotta take what the D gives you. He was sitting there waiting on WRs who arent getting open instead of taking off.

Bears fans think they drafted a clone of Russell Wilson but in reality the kid looks like modern day RG3. No QB that looked this pedestrian at the start of their career suddenly turned into a star. Fields was a major downgrade from Trubisky. Dalton should be starting. If you can call Dalton a bum after only two games in that offense then keep the same energy for fields. Not even Tim Tebow looked this bad. Geno Smith showed more flashes this year than Fields for crying out loud.

Again Arob stopped his route.

I know you are stupid and can't read what you've been told repeatedly but arob completely stopped and just stood there for some reason.

Agreed. Clearly I think that some of you need this 'long way explanation.'

Ya need something, that's for sure.
Don't mind him. @Aesopian acting like someone is stating obvious information is the most hypocritical comment on the board today. He's the king of the obvious statements that provide nobody with any information

It's funny the two people he mentioned (Tebow and Wilson) were pretty unimpressive as rookies. Russ's first 4 starts were better than Fields obviously because of the Browns game. But if you take that browns game out they are fairly similar and that's with a great coaching staff in Seattle. Fields and Wilson seem to have a similar drive to get better and be elite as well.
