The meatballs have won.

I mean, there's still plenty of fodder for the meatballs on the AM drive show with Mully & Hanley. I think it's more that Boers & Bernstein was the rock that anchored all the station's programming for two decades and they're still trying to find their way since it ended. Keeping Bernstein in the afternoons after they picked up the Cubs programming was just awkward, because he was constantly bumped. That can't happen to your flagship show, so moving him to middays probably makes sense for them financially. I am surprised they just outright canned Spiegel and Goff, because they aren't bad--just miscast. Spiegel is a good third wheel, but not a co-anchor. Goff should be on in the evenings talking Bulls & Sox with Holmes.

I would've fired Parkins before any of them. He was brutal when he first came over and he hasn't improved much. I know he grew up in Glencoe, but he's still always had this carpetbagger vibe to me.

I never liked him either. Haven't listened to him in years. For a while I only tuned in for "Who ya crappin".

The inevitable bitching about Bernstein reminds me of the story about how the people who hated Howard Stern listened to him twice as long as those who liked him.

I read somewhere, either here or CBMB, one of the posters met Boers at a party and was told that their being an ass was just a shtick.
Boers and Burnstien was a good show. It sure was better than the three stooges over at ESPN.

Meh, they had a remote once at a bar close to my office that I would occasionally frequent.

I can fairly report that after spending a couple of hours in the same room as both of them, that if it was a shtick they were really dedicated to it.

On air, off air the douchiness by both of them was pretty much non stop. Matt Abbatacola on the other hand was pretty cool.

I read that somewhere too. With all the choices on radio, satellite radio , tunein, or podcasts I don’t understand why someone would listen to a show they dont like. I never had a problem finding other entertainment for my drive home than B&G.

Yeah, I like Matt.
I was hoping he'd get Terry's spot. Oh well.

ND is horrible.
Man, I used to really love the Score, but.....

Goff coming back to team up with Bernstein just didn't work at all.

While some in my age group/younger (mid 30s down) might love Parkins, I absolutely hated him and he reminded me of every 20 something quasi-hipster I meet in bars in the city who think they're about 14X as smart as they actually are.

The two old Irishmen in the morning are/have always been crap.

Bernstein might have finally jumped the shark completely, and any show that lets him run roughshod over a partner is bound to fail.

I actually think Spiegs has the voice/chops and brains to be the man, but he is too narrow in his sports interests....

Get JHood back....

I haven't lived in Chicago for a while but used to try to catch B&B when I could. Dan could always get so one tracked and overwhelming though.

I recently was mindless listening to the radio in the car and came across a voice I remember from way back. It was that ****** bag "Huge" from the Huge and Lou show around 1999 or so. I think ESPN 1000 brought him in to be their main guy and he was a total washout. Got his ass kicked talking smack to guys in Canaryville after a Sox game. I think he was run out of town faster than Skip Bayless and Jay Mariotti.

AM talk radio is all pretty "meh". There is a ton of competition compared to when most of us remember it was a bigger deal. I think their ratings problems are a sign of the times; much like the printed news. I still listen when I get a chance but they have had some pretty grating personalities...B&B for me being by far the worst.
