Since we know what is going to happen with the 2011 team, lets start talking about the teams future.

901 made some great points about future rotations etc....it is that time sadly to put a fork in the 2011 sox.

I'm not too optimistic about the future. Looks like some rebuilding years. Chicago is a big market and should NEVER have to rebuild.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
2012 Roster:

Signed:
Jessie Crain: 04.50MM
Adam Dunn: 14.00MM
Gavin Floyd: 07.00MM
Paul Konerko: 12.00MM
Will Ohman: 2.50MM
Jake Peavy: 17.00MM
AJ Pierzynski: 6.00MM
Alexei Ramirez: 5.00MM
Alex Rios: 12.00MM
Mark Teahen: 05.50MM
Matt Thornton: 05.50MM
Dayan Viciedo: 02.50MM

Total: $93.50MM (12 PLAYERS)

ARBITRATION: $??
John Danks
Tony Pena
Carlos Quentin

Under team control w/ Arbitration thats worthwhile:
Gordon Beckham: 2015
Alejandro De Aza: 2014
Tyler Flowers: 2016
Phil Humber: 2015
Brent Lillibrige: 2015
Brent Morel: 2016
Chris Sale: 2016
Sergio Santos: 2016

Most of this team is back next season, pending if they resign Buerhle, Jackson, Vizquel, Pierre or Castro.

I don't think any of those guys come back, Buehrle maybe.

The only worthwhile trading chips are Viciedo (strongly against BTW), Jackson before the deadline, Quentin, and Danks (but you don't trade Danks unless he doesn't agree to an extension in the offseason and we're shit at the deadline in
2012).

This is what we're stuck with, and if we had anybody else as a manager I'd bet the results would be a hell of a lot better.

Floyd would be easier to deal than Rios, DFA his ass. Vizquels old. CQ, tough one cause if we dont trade him are we gonna pay him?

Trade Beckham, i would try to first. dont need him workin on his swing in the major leagues. KW just has to try to unload some money with some trades, and well be able to sign people./

We got a lot of money coming off the books after 2012. The situation isn't as bad as you'd think.

Floyd would be easier to deal than Rios, DFA his ass. Vizquels old. CQ, tough one cause if we dont trade him are we gonna pay him?

Don't move Floyd with the thought that he's one of the few starters signed going into next year. Plus I can't imagine the return being worth the trade. I think they resign Quentin, maybe 2-3 years? I can't see anything past that given his injury record.

When you have hefty contracts you usually don't move the cheap pieces.

so whats done by deadline?

Rios is still gonna be here next year? Pfft, Beckham sucks, his swing is slow as **** and takes forever, shorten that shit up. Idk i like Floyd, great K to BB ratio this season but 6-9 with 4.50 ERA, and those would be the number Id predict for him in the future, or at least 500, doesnt have overwhelming stuff, besides that curve.

KW needs to get creative and ship em.

CQ id like back.

Nothing is probably done at the deadline IMO. Rios may be put on waivers but I doubt anyone picks him up. Again, Floyd is one of the few starters coming back so you don't trade him unless you get another starter in return which white washes the idea of trading him in the first place. Beckham is cheap, real cheap, he ain't going anywhere.

I dont see any light at the end of the tunnel, not even for 2012.

1b-konerko- Probably wont repeat numbers of the past 2 seasons ( I guess he will still be close )
2b- Defense is fine ( No bat )
SS- I have zero issues at SS
3B- Morel is a big ?
LF- Vacant
CF- Sucks ass
RF- CQ is a good for complimenting a lineup, he should never EVER be the guy we lean on
DH- Do I expect CIN,WASH type numbers from Dunn? no. Do I think he will be better? yes

SP-Danks
SP-PEavy
SP-Floyd
SP-Humber
SP-Vacant

Bullpen is fine.

Lots of issues and holes to fill and a lot of what ifs. As of now we are nowhere near contenders for 2012.

JR can get whoever he wants if he wanted to, due to his networth, but im sure he will not after this years collapse. If the sox would have made the playoffs or had promise, he probably would have stroked more checks next season. But not anymore, that ship has sailed. If he does anything with his check book it would be resigning MB.

Why don't you have Buehrle there?

I'm extremely confident that he will be back.

Well, Beckham definitely shouldn't go. Don't just give up on him so easily. He has great defense that the Sox won't be able to find with anyone else and once they fire Walker like they should he will be a better hitter.

Sale is also an option for the rotation...I also like Flowers as part of the future of this team. Viceido, J. Danks, Escobar, Lillibridge and DeAza are not real bad as far as our future goes. To me the furture of this team depends on what we do with some of the veterans like AJ, Konerko, Rios, Beurhle and Thornton IMO.
