Unimaginable or did we all suspend belief in that Carlos Zambrano wouldn't have a massive meltdown at some point. I think Cubs fans would agree that the only way this is worse if it happened during a playoff push or against the Cardinals.
The question really is, can you find anyone to take Carlos Zambrano? Even if you eat a large portion of his contract?
What other Cubs needs to go at this point, but will be extremly difficult to move?
In order of need to move:
1. Zambrano
2. Fukudome
3. Ramirez
4. D. Lee
In order of difficultness
1. Zambrano
2. Ramirez
3. Soriano
4. D. Lee
I personally like some of the young talent on the Cubs. I like Colvin, Cashner, and Marmol. I like Castro, but he's in need of the minors right now. Wells seems to be figured otu, but I still see an upside. After that, why not make the moves that bring in quality prospects, especially for the Cubs pitchers who are pretty decent and would be coveted by most competitive teams.
