The books were really great the show is good not great but it leaves out quite a bit of the realism and descriptive and back story of the books

I think they over sold it as the next game of thrones. These shows need to stop doing that cause it’s hard to compete with that popularity. Now with got I read the books way before the shows were ever a thing. This show just isn’t motivating me to read the books

Without a doubt the books are far superior to the show but the show isn't bad

So GOT seemed to be much more political and the magic supplemented the story. How does WOT compare in this regard? I read the GOT books and thought the show adaptation was good even though quite a few characters and plot lines were left out.

This one's a similar style except the magic is more to the forefront while the politics supplement imo and so far the show has stayed true to the books but imo has done not a great job on putting more of the depth on the characters and the world as HBO did with the got world thats my one complaint at this point

If you enjoyed the GOT books though I very highly recommend the book series though you will be quite entertained

Cool. I'll read the books first I think. My wife was totally lost initially with GOT, I believe because I read the books it made the show much easier to follow. Also, it's nice to have background info that books seem to fill in much better than show adaptations. Thanks!

Yeah, the books really took their time with the story, I was wondering if the show was gon do that or just cut it down to the plot turns

Maybe when I finish the foundation books I will give this a go. But straight up the show isn’t inspiring me at all to commit to reading it

The books go into way more detail on the characters and the world whoever is directing producing this needs to realise thats a huge part of the story as they are imo leaving too much of the great details that made the books absolutely amazing
That being said the show itself isn't bad it just could be so much better

Budgets are a huge factor. If you read the game of thrones books before the show hit you would say the same thing. Some battles would just be the end of them lol

Yeah I read them before hand as well this one just feels like they cut way too much of the details out that really made the books blockbuster imo they are a better vook series than got ever thought about being

Books are very different. They are a lot more meandering with the characters. Like you don't even really know there is magic till like halfway through the first book if I remember right.

eh, game of thrones is much more plot driven.

wheel of time books are more character driven. You strip away all that backstory and character development and there isn't a lot left.
