The purpose of this thread is to add a quote and a hint, when it is correctly answered that person will add a new quote to guess at. The hint is up to your discretion it can be literal or more metaphoric.

If the original author isnt there to verify, and you are 100% sure you are correct just go ahead and post your new quote, or if your guess is verified by another poster. To avoid having to wait until the original poster of a new quote verifies an answer to continue.

i.e. assHavok posts:

Hint: Old Asian dude

"All war is deception."

Supraman responds:

Sun Tzu

then posts a quote and hint of his own.

This kind of works on the honor system, so try not to use quotes that are too obscure, and try to avoid the temptation of looking them up to answer, but guesses are allowed if you arent sure.

so to start it off:

Hint: Salad

"If you must break the law, do it to seize

power: in all other cases observe it."

Julius Caesar

correct. (Im not going to break balls, I could ask to be more specific as julius caesar is a genus and surname and many members of his family shared the "Julius Caesar" portion)

How come mine doesn't count?

Because you werent specific enough. You said "one of those caesar guys". Supraman implied a specific person generally historically commonly referred to as Julius Caesar.

There were two historically famous "Caesars" Gaius Julius Caesar who supraman is referring to and the aforementioned Caesars adopted son who stole power and became the first emperor of Rome, Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Octavianus or commonly historically reffered to as Augustus Caesar or Caesar Augustus.

So I'll kick it off with one of my favorite quotes

"You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone."

Hint: Prohibition

Didn't you play Civ 4? That is the quote used when you discover gun powder. I just love the quote.

shit, now I have to think about a quote... I hate this game. Do they have to be historical quotes or what? Can I quote anything as long as I feel it's pretty common knowledge?

I think common knowledge is fair. I figured mine was actually pretty obscure but I think the hint is what helped. I did want to say Valentine's Day for the hint

D'uh! Coz you're a chick. See, if you are a dude then Roman "tria nomina" standards won't be held against you and you can get away with only two-thirds of the name but since you're packing tits AND ovaries and only said one-third of the naming convention then clearly you are shit outta luck sister.

Guy 1: What would you do if you had a million

Guy 2: I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two chicks at the same time, man.

Hint: pieces of flare
