Yes. Especially when you're losing (Bulls playing the Raptors).

I'm serious. Don't watch a lot of basketball but especially at the end of games it's shot. timeout. shot. timeout. shot. timeout. shot. timeout. shot. timeout. shot. timeout. shot. timeout. shot. timeout. shot. timeout. shot. timeout.

They also need to do something about that stupid fouling at the end of games that works 1 time out of 100.

Basketball is supposed to have a fast pace to it

So you're uncommitted to basketball, and already you want to make changes to the rules? Come on now. The end can be fast or slow, it just depends on how the rest of the game went. I heavily disagree though. I don't know why you're complaining if your primary sport is baseball. Even the end of a close basketball game moves quicker than a baseball game. Y U MAD? lol

The fouls I'm fine with, but timeouts there can be a case made.

It's annoying, but they only get like 7 over the course of a whole game. That's pretty much 2 a quarter. It just seems like more because coaches save them for the ends of games so they'll have 2 fulls and 2 20's for advancing the ball if they need to.

lol I expect baseball to be slow though. I just hate to see basketball get so slowed down in the last minute. Like you pointed out though, i'm no huge basketball fan so I really only think about this during March Madness and the NBA playoffs.

Yeah. Sorry. It's just not going to happen. Plus, that is where the NBA and broadcasters have their highest ad visibility, so you know the league isn't going to cut that off.

I do miss how NBA on NBC used to do the final time-outs. Instead of squeezing in a 15 second commercial between 20sec timeouts. They would do a quick recap, then slip in the sponsor. Like the "Miller Light team stats" ect, ect. That way, you hold the entertainment value, and bring in sponsor money, but I guess the sponsors don't feel it's as effective.

Basically I don´t have a problem with timeouts.

Yes, sometimes they can be annoying especially when you´re watching League Pass and they don´t show you the commercials but only a stupid sign "game break in progress".

But what needs to go is that timeout by the officials!

Maybe they could also cut one timeout per team or just change it from a full to a 20! 20s are not too annoying!

The last 2.8 seconds of the MSU-OSU game a couple weeks ago took 8 minutes to play. It was basket-timeout-video review-timeout-inbound-timeout-video review for time-inbound. Seriously?! Eight minutes to play three seconds?

lol wut. That's why I don't watch college sports anymore.

But I do get the same feeling watching a NFL game. Kick-off, then commercial right away...and its the same Ford or Chevy commercial...

You better be effing happy that it´s just commercial for cars!

When I watched the games on league pass last season (remember it´s about 3:30 am over here then) I got damn hungry because of the Burgerking and McDonalds commercials. When you see the steak on the grill and stuff............ and what was always the next commercial???

I just realized that those who like the idea of less time-outs, are basing their opinions off March Madness, while those who don't want a change, are NBA fans.

NBA broadcasts are a bit more refined and fine tuned to the audience, because it's an 82-game + pre/post structure. The NCAA broadcasts work on a lot less than that, and they are not nearly as fine tuned. Thus when in doubt, cut it to commercial for ad revenue. YEAH BABY YEAH

I don't watch much college ball anymore. Maybe the broadcasts have something to do with it? IDK

There needs to be less fouls in basketball. That's what slows the game down more than anything and it even allows the referees to decide the outcome.

The final minutes of an NBA games are always going to take forever no matter what fair way they decide to make it. If they give teams less timeouts then they will save them for the final minutes of a close game. And the game will be much more sloppy and well-coached teams like the Bulls and Spurs will be put at a disadvantage.

The NBA needs their timeouts for commercial time. You wouldn't want to lose out on that money either if you were running a business.

they dont actually get THAT many timeouts really....the timeouts are important for gameplanning(not to mention a little extra rest that cant hurt), but even more importantly for marketing(i.e. TV timeouts and that sort of thing)...less timeouts take away the effectiveness of TV/internet market mutual business

i dont totally agree with the fouls idea(i care more about consistency of fouling more than just the amount..though ticky tack fouls do get annoying) though i think it is right to say that the aggregate fouls in a game take up a bit of time

overall, basketball games arent THAT long..except for maybe in the playoffs and finals
