Got this picture while I was driving east of my house. I like chasing storms and heard about the funnels being reporter by Lombard and such. I saw the cell moving towards where I was at so I somewhat followed it around. Their was little, if any, chance of a tornado touching down so I wasn't too concerned.

What you guys think? Possible funnell cloud here doe?

I remember seeing tornadoes touching down when we were driving back from Disney World when I was a kid. Always had a fascination with them since then.

They have fascinated me, too. I'm terrified yet thrilled by them. I live near Plainfield and I still drive by the monument sometime just to remember how bad they can be.My parents still remember that day and say how sticky and hot it was in Orland Park and how it just felt like something was going on with the weather. That tornado was horrible; whole damn town was leveled.

I think I got a pic of a funnel cloud- what ya thinks?

I always watch tornado videos and firs thand accounts. If you ever wanna see some videos- let me know and I'll post em. Some CRAZY shit i've seen. I never want to be near a F5.

In '67, an F4 tornado struck my hometown and caused one of the highest tornado-related death tolls in a single school building. Thankfully my mom stayed home sick that day. I'm not a fan of them and enjoy not having the constant threat of them living in Texas now.

I see you live in Austin.

How do you like it? It's known I have a disdain for hipsters, which is unfortunate that I've heard they have taken over the whole city.

I'm a big fan of Guy Clark, Ryan Bingham, Townes Van Zandt, Jason Boland and a lot of stuff flowing through the texas 'red dirty country' scene. Overall as a city, how do you like Austin?

I like Townes a lot. You would probably like Gary Clark Jr. Austin is a city filled with hipsters which is expected in cities with a younger population and an emphasis placed on culture/the arts. I like it here, but it's insanely overcrowded. The traffic ranks as some of the worst in the nation. I'm planning on doing some traveling this summer to see if I'd prefer to live somewhere else. For now though, Austin is great. I shoot (photos) semi-professionally and always find interesting things to photograph here. I'll never live back in Illinois (or the Midwest) ever again.

Can't blame you for that. I hate Illinois. I love Tenessee and I just know I'd fall in love with Texas. Overall, as you're a photographer, how is my shot I got today? I can't tell if it's a funnell cloud( I think it is- it was rotating); but I thought I got a cool shot as it was in the middle of nowhere.

If you have any reccomendations for places to check out in Austin, please let me know. I need to get down there soon. It seems like I'd fit right in(minus the hipsters). Do you have an opinion of the rest of Texas? Say West Texas and such? On my bucket list, I want to checkout a Permian football game. That's where the story 'friday night lights' is about. I think I'd be enamored with seeing a small texas town live and die with their football team.

If you every get the chance, just for some kicks.. Check out Marfa. It's an odd small town but they have a real cool arts festival every year and Guy Clark/Joe Ely are known to be down there.

Not a big tornado but a EF1 touched down in my neighborhood this April. Took out a crap load of trees. Also a building was taken out by straightline winds at the same time. I wasn't home at the time. I rode out the storm at my girlfriend's house.

You never run into water spouts while inner tubing? How about golden shower spouts?

I've seen a tail come down and touch down from about five miles away. I've had air sucked out of my house at night by a rotation. Not fun.

sent from my Verizon Galaxy S3 on PPC.
