I really do look forward to this every year. Not just for the fun of getting together with friends and having a great laugh, but to remember Tbird everytime I set foot on the ice. I swear I hear him laugh everytime I set skate on ice. Everytime I try and fail to hit a puck with a stick. Everytime I get smoked by the other players flying by me like I was Cullimore. Everytime I get a good head of steam going and then have to turn quickly and wind up bouncing off the ice. Hell skipping across the ice like a stone on water. I hear him laughing and I remember fondly the time I hung with him when we were both without a job or the times we would just shoot the breeze. I recall the first time I met him and Amy. I don't remember the the illness. I don't remember the pain. I don't remember the hurt and sadness I saw and felt that June. I don't feel the piece of emptiness inside knowing I can't bounce ideas off him. That I can't seek his council. For one day, I get all that, and get to share it with others that, I assume, feel the same way.

And for those reasons, and those feelings, I am grateful to Bob and the organization he created out of love for his wife Becky and his thirst to eradicate the disease that took her too soon from him and his kids. And in doing so, has touched the lives of many others.

Thank you Bob. and thank you HASWB.

I'm IN! And I guarantee I will let in less than 12 goals, or 14, or whatever it was! Either way let me get that net and redeem myself!

I was planning on playing all along, just wasn't able to get online to send the email to Klem in time. I'm always procrastinating... Have to fix that some day. ;)
