Rocksteady is one of the best game developers out there.

I expect it to be a fun and good game but critically panned like the last one. They will just say it is more of the same and plays just like the previous 3

The last one wasn't the same developer. It's going to be more like the first two, which were Rocksteady.

Meh, it was okay. Origins was a different game developer. Rocksteady gave WB Montreal all the info on the game engine and other advice, but were working on developing Batman for the next gen console. It was still fun, but nowhere near as good as the first two.

Either way I still stand by the statement. And frankly the last one was better than Arkham City. City was the weakest entry in my opinion

I have different tastes than most for popular games. Most will probably say the 2nd was the best, I say the first. I dont think open world fits batman that well. It does in the sense that he protects all of gotham but it doesnt in the scope of one night. Also the 2nd one's only highlight for me was the Mr.Freeze fight the rest was meh.

It's cool, everyone has their own preferences. I loved all of them, and beat all of them multiple times. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were both games of the year from certain sources and were the same developer as Arkham Knight, which is why expect it to receive large critical acclaim and be equally fun to play. The only thing really different is that Paul Dini isn't writing the story for Arkham Knight. When I get this, I'll probably play all of them in chronological order, just like I always did with God of War.
