Who are this years most overpaid players?

1. Joe Johnson has to top this list. When his career is over he will have made 200 MILLION DOLLARS.

...I mean he's a nice player but 200 million is Shaquille O'Neal, Michael Jordan, LeBron James kind of money. The Hawks re-signed him for 6 years and 124 million. Why on earth would anyone give him that kind of money for an okay player?

2. Jermaine O'Neal. ...So the Celtics give a slowed down Shaq 1.2 but bring in a completely spent Jermaine O'Neal in for 2 years at 6 million per. Walk me through this please.

3. Jose Calderon - Again, he's a nice player but at 9 million plus PER year for a guy whose never done better than 12 and 8 and who got you just 10 and 6 last year?

4. Amir Johnson - Toronto gave him 34 million. Who is this guy!? If he walked right past me I would have no idea who he was. Anyone know who this guy is?

5. Amare Stoudemire - 5 years 100 million? The Knicks shoul;d have learned their lesson when they took a roll of the McDyess and gave a forward with lots of injury woes a fat contract. Amare is much better than McDyess granted, but if I ran the Knicks I would cringe every time Amare got the ball.

6. Brendan Haywood got 55 million over 6 years. Strikes me as insane.

7. Besides Joe Johnson, Rashard Lewis HAS to be the most overpaid player in the NBA. Orlando gave him 116 million when he was coming into his 10th season.

By the time his contract expires in 2012-2013, he'll be in his 15th year. Making 20.5 million this year. Averaged 14 points a game last year. Hasn't won anything.

Why do guys like that get superstar money?

Noah isn't overpaid whatsoever if anything the guy could be making more if he keeps it up.

Mike Dunleavy 10.5 mil

But the most overpaid player in the NBA:
Jamal Tinsley 5.5 mil for sitting on his ass.

His career PPG is 7.9. Sorry, not worth 12 mil a year.

Although I didn't want to give him the contract, it is fair market value for a big man. Dalembert and Chandler have made comparable amounts of money during their career, neither is as good as Noah. Plus bringing up his ppg. doesn't work because the Bulls didn't pay him to score. Any scoring he gives is icing on the cake.

We honestly don't know if Noah is overpaid or not yet. It isn't a cheap contract, but you get a lot in return.

Teams have guys like that who are "overpaid." Andrew Bynum makes like $8-$10M per season, and his team won a championship.

Bynum made 12.5 mil in the first year of an appreciating contract last year didn't he?

That's like saying a point guard is a waste of money because he only grabs 3-4 rebounds a game. That's not what the Bulls pay Noah to do. He's there to rebound, play defense, and be 7 feet tall. Scoring is a bonus - and I think that average will go up a bit this year, anyway.

I don't see how people can say Noah anyway, it's THIS year's most overpaid and Noah is still on his rookie deal THIS year.

t-mac's ppg in his first three points was about 10.5 ppg. players improve bro. that's first of all. plus you kinda need to keep in mind that noah isn't paid to play offense, although you coulda fooled me with his scoring tonight!

The Lakers wish he made that little. They gave him a 3 yr max deal. He's making about 15 per over the next 3 yrs.

He is a defensive center. They typically don't score 20ppg. And centers get paid, look at the last to we payed. Chandler got 6/62 and Wallace got 4/60. It seems fair. Noah is already better than Chandler and is probably as good of a rebounder as Wallace was in his prime. Meanwhile, Hortford basically got the same deal.
