This guy is a fucking idiot and seriously needs to quit licking windows...they are not flavored!!!!!!!!

Quote:I’m predicting Philly, with Pronger and overall experience being the determining factors. Whether you agree with me or not, what can’t be disputed is that neither team has seen an opponent as physical and deadly in both ends as they will this series. And that will make for a great final.:endquote

So what he is saying is that Vancouver is not a physical team in both ends? And PRonger is the ultimate reason why Philly will win???? Jesus christ.....I really do not know ho wto respond to this .....this...... drivel.

Weak arguments to support the Flyers. Guy just seems to have a nasty hard on for Pronger. Pronger this and Pronger that. He's slow!!!

Timmonnen is a decent blueliner and so is Carle. But better than Hammer and Campbell? I don't know. Guess an argument can be made, but I certainly can't agree with that statement. I Like that he doesn't even touch on Seabs and Keith though (sweeps that one under the carpet) lol. Flyers with the best top 4 blueliners in the league? Laughable.

This guy is a Flyers fan who probably hasn't watched one Hawks game all year. He also seems to have a case of eastern conference bias. Doesn't really make it clear but it is certainly there.

Outside of not mentioning Seabs/Keith he also fails to acknowledge the Hawks offense at all. Doesn't acknowledge how well the Hawks have been coached and doesn't acknowledge how healthy the Hawks appear to be right now.

Poorly written article to say the least. And he sure does get a boner bringing up the Hawks cap issues and to recycle garbage.

Flyers will be a worthy opponent. No doubt about it, they can score and their blueline is above average for sure. But come on now if Pronger is the key to the Flyers then they are screwed.

IMO, their "key" relies on Michael Leighton to perform well. It starts and certainly doesn't end there. The questions regarding the Flyers are a handful, while you might only be able to come up with one or two questions for the Hawks -- if there even are any at this point.

Until the series starts, both teams only have a chance to win. Nothing is ever a given, but if I were a betting man, the Blackhawks certainly look like the safe bet at this point by a long shot.

Looks like this guy was just trying to go against the grain and get some hits to his article.

Can we calm down with the double letters, HOLY SHIT!!!! TIMONEN!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha now that's out of the way. That article honestly has to be a joke, right? Leighton playing lights out in the Stanley Cup Finals? The Flyers have 4 D-Men and like I said in another thread... we see how well that worked out for the more talented Canucks.

Pronger already said on the Jim Rome show that he's "not going to allow Byfuglien to stand in front of the net and will do whatever it takes to keep him out"... Wow Pronger you wily little vet, he's already in your head and you're telling the refs before the games even start that you're going to commit interference penalties the whole series?

Their top 2 forward lines are pretty good but the 3rd and 4th line are going to get eaten up.

Really, at this point all I want is the series to start. I've ran through hundreds of different match ups in my head, possibilities, and whenever I read Philly boards or articles like this one their complete opposites and it drives me fucking nuts. I have now accepted that their gonna think what ever they want. But the truth will be told when we play.

I cannot FUCKING WAIT FOR SATURDAY!!!!

Another thing. While I agree in principle that it may be too early to be comparing Toews to guys like Sakic, the reality is there is a lot of simillarities in their games. And to be perfectly honest as classy as Burnaby Joe was I think Toews takes it to an even higher level. Obviously this schlub who wrote the article never watched Sakic play and can not draw on smillarities.

Certainly can not compare NHL numbers yet. But the early success of Toews hockey career thus far is quit amazing. A cup win for Toews would certainly put him in the same category as Sakic though (although Sakic has 2). Lets see... World Championship gold, Olympic Gold, Junior Golds all by the age of 21? Pretty freaking incredible resume so far. Joe Sakic didn't reach those goals by 21. And Toews had played a very key part in all those championships. Not taking anything away from Sakic though. His WJC gold, Olympic gold, World Championship Gold and World Cup Gold were well deserved and he too played a big roll in those championships.

Anyways. It's no secret that I am a big Joe Sakic fan. He was an incredible player. Here are a few simillarities btw the two players though

Both had injuries in their rookie years which made it difficult to win the Calder (Thats cool though Kane deserved it)

Toews named Captain in his second year. Sakic named co-captain in his second season.

They both have dark hair.

The only concern I have is Pronger matching up with Buff. The teams we have faced so far haven't had a guy as strong as Pronger, and he undoubtedly can move Big Buff.

That is right now, my concern, and that's it until I see these teams play.

Pronger can focus on Buff all he wants. When a team does that they lose focus on the other guys on the ice that are capabale of scoring. Pronger can shadow Buff all he wants. Who's going to take care of Toews and Kane? Works in our favor id Buff takes Pronger out of the game and opens up ice for Kane and Toews.

Vancouver didn't get this, San Jose didn't get this. Funny that Buff kept on scoring though anyways. Not going to take anything away from Pronger though. He is a good blueliner although he is a giant asshole.

Let pronger focus on Buff. Can the other 4 guys on the ice stop our other 4 guys on the ice? That will be the question.

...the article author focus's on Pronger, and the rest of the Flyers defense and Chicago second defensive line pairings but leaves everything else out of the mix. Can Pronger play 60 minutes a game? 'Cause our Hawks have four lines - and all can score, check and create havoc for the Flyers defense. Is Leighton that good? Chicago isn't Montreal. We have Toews, Kane, Hossa, Verstig, Bolland , Buff etc. I don't worry about Niemi anymore - he's proven himself already and seems to be cool as a cucumber.

I'm surprised to hear many "hockey experts" on the radio/TV finally seeing the light and predicting the Hawks to win in five or six games. Except for Doug McLean - he predicted Nashville, then Vancouver, then San Jose and now Philadelphia to win!

Exactly. Let Pronger wrestle with Buf in front of the net - should be fun to see Leighton trying to see Kane and Toews shots coming at him.

However, for any criticism heaped upon Kovalchuk, one thing’s for certain: he’s dangerous, as his empty-net goal (his second career playoff goal) and two assists on the night confirm.

But the threat he poses has opened up ice for New Jersey’s other top scoring-forwards – Zach Parise, Travis Zajac, Patrik Elias and Dainius Zubrus. That foursome combined for two goals and eight points Friday and made the Philly blueline look like it isn’t deep enough to handle everything New Jersey has to throw at it; something this writer, at least, didn’t expect to see so soon, if at all

.

.

.

Whether it’s the Pens-Sens series or the Devils-Flyers, if Pittsburgh’s and New Jersey’s best players continue outplaying their counterparts, neither series will last longer than five games.

I say we save the link and when the hawks win we blast him in the comment section. I mean his analysis is one of the worst I've ever seen. Campbell and Hammer are an average 2nd pair? really they are 1st pair on some teams.

Not much sure I care. This guy is basically just a blogger that for some reason has been given the slightest of legitimacy by being on THN.

I couldn't even get past the first couple of paragraphs. The guy could be right that the Flyers will win the Cup, but he doesn't give any good reasons why that might happen. All I got was "I'm a bitter guy who hates the Blackhawks, so the Flyers will win." Again, though, I didn't read much of it.
