Wow. Lots of people are high on the Blackhawks. I still think Detroit will win the division myself, but I'm really a casual hockey fan so :dunno:.

I'm looking forward to a good year.

From the THN article: The Hawks are still all about Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook – and will be for a long while – and big seasons from those five is money in the bank.

Somebody forgot to mention Hossa.

all the teams in the western playoffs will probably be from the central and pacific, with 1 in the northwest

For sure... the Central and Pacific are STACKED. I'm looking forward to see how this "tougher" Hawk team works out.

Blackhawks, Red Wings, and Preds are all going to be good this year. Kings, Sharks, and Ducks is going to be a tough division too.

I've got...

1. Sharks
2. Canucks
3. Blackhawks
4. Red Wings
5. Kings
6. Ducks
7. Blues
8. Flames

I think Sharks adding Burns, Havlat, and Handzus is going to pay off big time. Canucks take a step back by losing Ehrhoff and they have some early season injuries already piled up. Blackhawks and Red Wings are going to battle it out all year in the Central, I think injuries and Howard hurt the Red Wings more so than the Hawks. Kings take a big step forward this year by adding Richards/Gagne and the only small concern is their blueline. Ducks are going to be a solid team again but Hiller and his vertigo is still a question mark to me, also they don't have the depth that certain teams have. Blues should improve this year and I think the Flames sneak in. I think the Preds finally miss the playoffs as they have lost a lot of offense (Sullivan, Ward, Lombardi, Dumont) and the regular season is a different beast than the playoffs - they have the goaltending and defense for the playoffs.
