So the CBMB is now closed and the memory fading. Most folks from over there have found a new home, with the majority arriving here at CCS.
As this hoard has moved in, we have discovered a reigning troll or two. We have also brought with us our share of trolls from the CBMB. Over the past week or two CCS members new and old have witnessed a process of trolls sorting themselves out and exposing their schtick, establishing the role they will play in this new posting environment. Fine. It is the internet and this is largely how it goes.
The main question is how will the rest of the community respond.
Long time members of the CBMB are well aware of the all-too-often frequency in which things degraded into a diarrhea flowing, shit-storm cesspool over there.
But maybe this is one component of the CBMB that we can leave behind. Maybe its not necessary to perpetuate old rivalries, tired shit-starting schtick, or the same old, worn out overly confrontational and provoking bullshit.
Personally, I have received this same plea from both CCS staff and vet members alike in numerous PMs.
New members take note - both are aware of the veteran raging douche bags. And they are becoming aware of the new CBMB crossover raging douche bags. They are aware.
But maybe we can make a change from the CBMB and not let the douche bags define this community.
Maybe, as we explore and develop this new forum landscape, we can try and not facilitate its descent into a giant internet shit-storm cesspool.
Lahey: "Do you know what a shit barometer is, Bubbles? Measures the shit pressure in the air. You can feel it. Listen, Bubs. You hear that? The sounds of the whispering winds of shit? You can hear it."
Bubbles: "No, I don't hear anything..."
Lahey: "Oh, but you will, my sorry little friend, when the old shit barometer rises, and you'll feel it too. Your ears will implode from the shit pressure. You were warned, Bubs. Beware, my friend: shit winds are a-comin'."
