So my dad's birthday is coming up and him being a resurgent Cubs fan (2003 kind of killed his fandom a little) I thought it'd be cool to get him some Cubs tickets. We haven't been to Wrigley since the Sosa era, so it's been quite a long time for him. Was just wondering if anyone knew any seats I should aim for or maybe good match ups in particular that I should try to get. If possible we'd like to get 4 tickets so our whole family can come, but since my mom and sister don't really care, it's cool if we just get 2. At this point is it difficult to get 4 seats next to each other?

Right now we're looking at getting him tickets for a game in July, preferably on a weekend, though I know not that many games fall in this category.

Also would Stubhub be a good place to check for tickets, potentially at a cheaper cost than the regular MLB site, or are there better options out there?

Any input is greatly appreciated. :)

You won't be getting Cubs seats at a discount. The cheapest seats are still sold from the box office.

This far out you should have no trouble getting 4 seats together.

Figured I'd not get any discounts, but you never know. In any case I don't mind the cost as it is for my dad. Considering getting him some premium seats even since he's never had those before.

There's still some great seats left for the Sunday July 31st game against Seattle. It's much more limited for any other weekend July game

There's really no site to go for a better than deal than through the regular Cubs site. Prices would only potentially go below face value on the secondary market on the day of and that's a risk.

Honestly, I love sitting down the third base line almost in the Bartman seat. Great view. Ive been to Wrigley a dozen times and I have probably sat in that section 8 times. Honestly, I have never really had a bad view of Wrigley. Also, love this post Clone. Now, to get Scoot to get over his negative nancy ways.

Got to BELIEVE!

Thanks for the input guys. I'm thinking I might try to get some good seats for me and my dad rather than get cheaper seats for the whole fam at this point. The women in the family could care less about sports anyway. I'll check into that Seattle game on the 31st.

Last time I went I sat in the upper deck box area, almost at the front along the first base line. The view was great.

It was around section 430 or so.

Considering seats around section 237. It's kinda sucky that we can't see the fly balls, but it's got shade which will help my dad get through the game with July's heat. Seems like a decent view for the price when I check the view from my seat thing. Also going to consider getting him better more expensive tickets, but currently that section has seats for my whole family.

Just as a general question which section would be the equivalent to the K zone at White Sox games? Had a company outing there in that section and thought the view was pretty solid for cheaper seats.

When I was a kid only the closest seats to the field were called box seats. Everything else was general admission fisrt come first served. So I would get there at 10:30 when the stadium opened and I would take my seat in section 226 up against the railing behind the walkway that went around the park. Cost of that seat was $1.50

Armed with my copy of the Sporting News and bag o food from Franksville I would spend the next 3 hours waiting for the game to start. By 1:30pm I was exhausted

Ended up getting tickets for the Rangers game on the 17th as it fits my dad's schedule better. Thanks again for the input.
