I watched some of that extra inning game last night and heard the stat about us being something like 5-10 in xtra inning games this year. It got me to thinking of all the bad stuff we've had. Some teams have career years, some have dismal. But if just one or maybe two of these things were changed we'd be winning the AL Central. This list is just off the top of my head, add on as you wish.

1. 5-10 in Extra Inning Games
2. Complete meltdown of Matt Thorton in April as Closer
3. Complete lack of all around play by Juan Pierre in April and May
4. Adam Dunn post appendectomy
5. Alex Rios
6. Injuries to Jake Peavy

Half of this list just states that the Sox were good on paper, but Dunn, Rios, and Peavy have underachieved. The underachievers and Ozzie not knowing how to manage are the big reasons. Yes, the extra inning games contribute to the bad season and are bad luck, but if those three players had done what they were supposed to do and we had a manager that wasn't an idiot the extra inning games wouldn't even matter.

but again, you have really not a whole lot of ammo to sit here and fire on KW. Has he lost some deals? yes. Has he won some? yes. See the other thread dedicated to KW. All GMs make mistakes.

"oh but he gave up hudson who is so freaking awesome for ejax, and we traded him anyway.........hudson is going to be great" that non sense is annoying as **** by fans.

His last 3 to 4 years worth of moves have been horrible.

I'm not going to go into it with you again ;) KW is a huge gambler, which a lot of people like and respect. Unfortunately, his gambles in the past 3+ years haven't worked out.

I agree, but at the same time you are missing the point. If just one or two of these things weren't so we would be fine and could live with the rest of the problems.

You can throw all the stats in the world at me, but it all comes down to Greg Walker being a stupid and incompetent hitting coach. If this team hits and produces runs when it matters and the division isn't even close right now.

 Exactly. Our pitching combined with what our hitting should be like should make us one of the top teams in the American League. Instead, we are under .500 and fighting to win our division.
