Toews is day-to-day with an upper body injury... nothing on Seabrook.

Good thing we have a little break in the schedule coming up. Best way to see if Toews will be ready for the road trip will be if he plays in the All-Star game. If he sits out we're in big trouble. Seabs has been rock solid lately on D too so his injury will hurt big time - I think it will facilitate a trade by Stan if it appears he's going to be out awhile. You can't do that month long road trip without D help.

It would be great if JT got to skip the All-star crap fest, we know he's hurting, so getting him to heal up would be great.

Has there been any word on the extent to Toews injury? And anybody else who might be hurting?

I guess I missed it but what happened to Seabs in the game? I was completely concerned with Toews and must have missed any Seabs injury.

He blocked a shot. Everyone is on the ice for morning practice except JT and Sharp.

Thanks RK. Glad Seabs was at practice. Was concerned it might have been his noggin.

Figured Toews wouldn't be at practice. Although i bet he is running his own practice this morning somewhere. Kid never freaking stops and takes a breath.

Pez and I were discussing how pitiful the Hawks look without Toews and Sharp.

You really try to tell yourself that without them we'll be ok because of depth.

Just look at the lines tonight... you can't input 5 rookies and expect to be successful day in and day out.

The loss of both of those guys is a lot bigger than most assume.

Really it comes down to our system, the Pens have more than sustained their status as elite while being absolutely decimated by injuries. This year Malkin has been healthy while Crosby has been out, but Staal has missed a ton of time as has their best Dman and countless others.

I really was looking for Kane to step it up tonight but he never got it going, at this point I'm really thinking he's hurt somewhere. There was a few situations where him simply continuing to skate hard could have created things, that was all deep in the zone. I've never really been a guy to say Kane is a lazy player like some, but something seems to be off as of late.

Well the east really does suck but that's not the point. Fluery has been able to win games for the Pens also while the injuries hit them. Our goalkeeping isn't doing that.

Kanes been getting laid on his ass every single game the last 2 weeks and he has been a bit slow to get up. Could def be an injury there or maybe it's just more frustration. He's been taking a beating though every game. Teams are really stepping up on him when he has the puck and he's getting knocked off it left and right. He could use a little bit more support out there. It's the only thing I don't like about Stalberg on the LW he's not physical enough and no space is being created for Kane outside of Stalbergs speed. Kanes def going to miss Toews and the cycle game they produce. Stalberg and Bolland def don't have that part of the game. Kane hasn't been without great chances before Toews got hurt i do think if Toews isn't back sooner than later though it's not going to help Kane at all.

Whatever. The club has a full week to mend some injuries before a huge game against the Canucks.

Yea I mean before someone takes it the wrong way, I wasn't ripping Kane, but something the past 2 to 3 weeks has been off.

I'm really looking for a very solid defensive forward at the deadline, when we won the cup we were dressing the best overall defensive team in the league. Right now were not even close to that. With Madden, Ladd, Toews, Hossa peppering every line along with Versteeg as another solid defensive forward it was just ridiculous.....still pisses me off the Flyers took us to game 6, we were literally 4 times the team.
