Toews was on The Afternoon Salloon this evening and was asked how fun it will be tomorrow when a lot of his old teammates come back to Chicago.... he responded:

"It's great to see all these guys coming back; Soupy, Steeger, Kopecky, Madden.... but especially Dale Tallon."

A simple comment that carries a lot of weight coming from the Captain of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Dale is a great man. It is only fitting that a great young man respects and admires someone that helped put him on the stage he now owns.

I am glad to hear Tazer's comments being said publicly. There is no doubt in my mind that they know who orchestrated their playoff and Lord Stanley Cup achievement and have much respect for Dale. On the other hand, I think that they tread lightly in this area due to his circumstances on a public level, which is sad if true.

There is much love for Dale from those players. All you have to do is read the story about Dale's fathers passing to get some insight.

At the same point, Havlat would have stayed. I think either way we were well off in a Cup run. Hossa or Havlat.

What's the Over/Under that McDouchebag threw something at the TV/Radio when Toews said that and contemplated punishing him for not showing allegiance to McDouchenozzle's cronies?

Sorry Grimson, I was busy this morning. Glad to see the comment. Speaks VOLUMES. oh...and the salary cap? According to Rocky, Scooter was the cap genius, so look to the "numbers guy" for the issues. LOL Could be the same ass who held back the QOs so he could get a promotion.

Keep in mind most of the guys on our team who came up through our system were drafted by Tallon, so they will always have a real sense of appreciation towards the guy. Also, the players who were around for the cup aren't idiots they know who built that team and I think thats a big reason why Tallon eventually got a ring.

Although I will hand it to Bowman, he's been really, really good at managing the salary cap, just getting a team on the ice last year, and this year having one of the best teams in the league and still have a shit load of cap space for some deadline moves (CapGeek estimating we'll have about 22.4 million come trade deadline), he deserves a lot of credit for getting the hawks out of cap hell and putting them in a great position.

He also helped put them in cap hell. That's what you sometimes have to do when you want to make a run for the Cup after a 49 year drought.

I don't think I'd blame Bowman for that, the two signings that put us in that position, Campbell and Huet, were both signings that McDonough made through Tallon. Tallon seems to get thrown under the bus in the media for those signings and the offer sheets but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know who was behind those.

And for the record I'm glad we signed Campbell, but I'm even more thrilled we found someone to take his contract.

Last I heard Campbell was Tallon's signing, not McDonough's.
