Tom Thibodeau has no life | Blog Archive | The Basketball Jones | Blogs | TheScore.com

the headline for this picture is priceless.
Might need a little more practice. | Blog Archive | The Basketball Jones | Blogs | TheScore.com

Not that that’s a bad thing. It’s just his thing. The man just lives and breathes basketball, which is a huge part of the reason why the Bulls have the best record in the Eastern Conference. Here’s Derrick Rose describing his head coach’s peculiar non-habits to the Chicago Tribune:

“I’ve never played for a coach who was that focused,” Rose said of Tom Thibodeau, admiringly. “There’s nothing else — no kids, no wife, no leisure time to watch TV. I’m dead serious. There’s nothing else going on.

“I’ve never heard about Thibs being out eating. I never ran into him eating anywhere. No matter what city we’re in, I won’t see him until the next day. I never been around a coach like him.”

OK, so Tom Thibodeau doesn’t eat, watch TV or date. Apparently, he does nothing except study basketball, coach basketball and yell about basketball. Probably makes for a strange offseason, but if that’s how he wants to live his life then he should go for it. As a Bulls fan, I’m certainly not complaining about a coach who’s that dedicated to finding an advantage.

Besides, as Rose tells it, that’s what makes Thibodeau who he is.

Asked if he’s worried about his coach’s long hours, Rose smiled.

“Nah, he’s healthy,” Rose said. “We’re winning. He seems like he’s enjoying himself. So I’m fine with it.”

As the wise philosopher Sherylphylus Crowitus once said, “If it makes you happy, then it can’t be that baaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aad.” And it really does seem like Tom Thibodeau really just wants to do basketball stuff, even if that devotion is probably a little bit unhealthy. More power to him.

That being said, he should probably eat something every once in a while. Some pancakes, perhaps

I don't have much of a life either so I really shouldn't poke fun at Thibodeau in that regard.

I do three things in my life. 1. Study 2. bulls related activities- going to games, posting, watching bulls. 3. Neglect my friends.

i just liked that picture of tom smiling. The caption reads "might need a little more practice". It's so appropriate on so many levels.
