Damn, nobody has a damn clue what they are talking about. The highest on any projection I've found is the 4th seed, and "losing in the first round", but usually as the 6th/7th/8th seed or not making the playoffs. They say that they've lost too many good pieces and din't get anybody good, and half the idiots claim that Turco sucks.

Time to prove the retards wrong!

They still have studs and I expect a little less production than last year but that's still good. I expect Kane, Toews and Keith to step it up even more than last year and with the other players stepping it up too.

Ya, I expect Kane and Toews to be even better this year, if possible, and better goal-tending, and then the Hawks got some good replacements.

I think kane will start the season slow, but with a full season of Hossa, a healthy Bolland, and our top 6 forwards, top 4 defenseman and arguably a better goalie, they are dumb to underestimate us

If possible? They still have a lot of room to grow. They're both still kids and haven't hit their primes yet. Kaner got stronger last offseason and he needs to continue to do so...also his back-checking has improved and still needs to continue to improve. I'd like to see Toews develop a better wrister/snapper.

They do....big time. No love for the Bears yet. They think Bulls will be OK but not great and the trend keeps going.

Notice how much Philadelphians must hate Chicago now? Cubs crushed the Phils both series and Hawks won the Cup against them obviously.

Not really a drastic hate. I expect them to have some down spells for time in the year and probably will be a mid seed going into the playoffs. I highly doubt they'll loose round 1.

By mid do you mean 4-6? Possible, because Detroit is a good team.

it is pointless to get worked up over predictions.

Last year we started the season without hossa for 2 full months, now we start with him from the get go which is a huge huge plus. what buff did during the season did not, let me repeat...did not make it so the hawks finished where they did in the conference standings.

versteeg is overrated and makes 1 extra move all the time which lead to turnovers. skille can easily replace him.

madden at his age with the hawks was just a guy on the pk.

may i remind you that we were not even close to being stable at the goalie position until the end of the season. huet and niemi rotated and with huet in net we still won a lot of games.

turco>niemi
turco>huet

pisani was a good addition

stalberg is my pick to break out

not homerism, just facts

Good points. I think the Turco factor is what everyone is looking at. Im hardly a big fan myself but outsiders(those who only see select games) are absolutely in love with Niemi. They obviously dont know what most of us do. Hey, he won a Cup here but he needed a lot of help along the way. I think he's susceptible to high shots and gives big rebounds which incredibly was areas where he wasnt tested much in the playoffs. Of course, Turco has always worn rubber pads himself...which is something the Hawks D will have to over come. Hawks lost some good players to be sure, but they were players that could be replaced and I think they've done a decent job of accomplishing that. They're still a strong club...just not quite as strong.

Like ive said numerous times before, Turco had IDENTICAL numbers to Niemi last year, and Niemi had the leagues best defense in front of him.

If anything, Turco will help because the distraction of who's the #1 will be gone, when last year players were asked daily about it.

I'm not against the talent upgrades at all.. I'm saying they may just drive a natural let down and not pull out the energy and force they had last year game in game out.. Along with that not condensed schedule this year I think they'll be carrying their success with less greatness game to game.

I don't see them winning the division, then not being a top 3 team easily at all which requires you to win your division. That's what I see being a middle of the pack Playoff team, 4-6.
