Per ESPN Insider:

Toronto and Detroit.

Toronto has acquired Peja Stojakovic 15 million dollar expiring contract from New Orleans. Chicago could use Toronto in a three team trade to acquire Carmelo Anthony. Very doubtful seeing that Toronto didn't want anything to do with Luol Deng during the era of Bosh last season.

Now Detroit could make things very interesting with the expiring contract of Tayshaun Prince. It has already been reported by NBA Insider that the Pistons would like to be involved as a third team in any trade for Carmelo Anthony.

Pistons a player in Melo deal?

We've previously noted the chatter that the Nuggets could be after Andre Iguodala in part of a multiteam deal that ships Carmelo Anthony out of town.

But according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, another swingman -- one on an expiring $11.1 million contract -- could be in play for them: Tayshaun Prince.

"Sources say the Pistons are expected to make their interest known in participating in the Anthony talks as a third team, with Prince satisfying part of what Denver is looking for as a wing player on an expiring deal," he wrote.

If the Nuggets are looking for financial flexibility and young talent in return for Melo, Prince's expiring deal would make more sense than Iguodala's, who has four years and $56.5 million remaining on his contract, the last year of which is a player option.

Chris Broussard

If Pistons make trade, Prince more likely to get dealt:

"For more than a year there have been rumors that Hamilton and Prince would be traded from Detroit, but even though the Pistons are 1-5, their two vets may be staying put. The perimeter-heavy Pistons would love to move Hamilton - for their sake and for his - to a contender, but with two years, $25 million left on his contract after this season, takers for the 32-year-old are few, if any. Hamilton might be a nice fit in Chicago, but the Bulls would only take on that contract if they could get rid of Luol Deng, which is a near impossibility. Plus, Hamilton's production has dropped to just 10.7 ppg this season. There's far more interest in Prince, but since he's in the final year of a contract paying him $11 million this season, the Pistons may just keep him. With Prince's deal having value on the open market, Detroit will listen to offers but it will only move him for a player it sees as a future building block."

Denver receives:
Tayshaun Prince, Taj Gibson, James Johnson, and a first round pick

Detroit receives:
Luol Deng and Denver's second round pick

Chicago receives:

Carmelo Anthony

Here....we...go...AGAIN. :bizarro:

I think all of this is starting again because now that Boozer is back & the team is playing well they must think Anthony is super interested now.......gimme a break.

Also: Someone on the ESPN Bulls boards suggested adding Bogans & a future 2nd for Aaron Afflalo..

So, the thought is our starting SF, backup PF, last player on the bench and a late 1st round pick can get Carmello?

If it's that simple, do it.

I can see it. The Nuggets will want to trade him, and I still think a team will want to sign Melo to an extension in a trade. I don't see a rental. If a team wouldn't, they won't offer as much. Then, Melo will only like to sign an extension with the Bulls and Knicks. Knicks as the favor though. But, the Knicks really don't have anything to trade. So, Taj is a starter, JJ needs playing time to be at least some what good, the 1st will come in handy and if they couls sign Prince to a contract, he'll help out.

This is how I kinda see it.

The starting lineup up:
Rose-PG
Boozer-PF
Melo-SF
Brewer-SG
Noah-C

I have Melo as the SG, he wouldn't act like a SG, but if they keep Deng, I think this is the4 best lineup. With Korver playing big minutes off the bench. Also, the Bulls will play smaller if they acquired Melo. Maybe even the Bulls can acquire Mayo, but that would be unlikely as they won't have anything and the Knicks are the likely destination.

How do you expect to keep Deng?

fair enough -- i was very confused - haha

I read over the post too fast and I looked at what Denver was recieving and Deng wasn't there. So, I just assumed, then I looked over again and fixed.

Chicago's a desirable-enough city...time will tell.

Right now, the only 2 teams that he will sign an extension with is the Knicks and Bulls. There was 3....the Nets but he said NO to the Nets now.

That came out of his mouth? I haven't been following this story very closely of late b/c I'm so sick of the rumors and nothing of substance happening.

I'm not positive, but sources close to him I do know.

The most recent thing I heard from Melo was when we played the Nuggets this year. Melo commented on how he never heard so many cheers for him from an opposing team, and that he loves to play in Chicago or something like that. I wouldn't get your hopes up though.

I don't know I think Deng and Gibson are improving their STOCK BIG TIME so far this season, I am having second thought about trading them...ESPECIALLY Gibson!

but if we can get Melo without giving up Noah...that makes up the favorite out of the East or at least no worse then second behind the Celtics, Melo gives us that SHOOTER that can spread the floor for Rose and Boozer

See, that's the thing...We'd keep our rebounder/hustler, keep our low post-threat...and keep Rose, of course...A team of Rose, Anthony, Brewer/Korver, Boozer, Noah....how do you stop them?

If it's just Luol/Gibson/Johnson, I wouldn't think twice about pushing the button to blow up the entire NBA with a single trade.

If Melo goes to Charlotte then that means the Clippers should win the title this year.

As much as we may like MJ.....he ain't gettin him without giving away all the real talent they have. LOL
