This is just pure discussion material, assuming it happens. Which would be the harder playoff match up? ECF vs the Heat or Finals vs the Thunder?
Wow, Lebitch and the Heat really got you guys sold here.
:terrible:
The Heat are the better team. OKC has 3 guys. Miami has much better role players & much better individual defenders on their bench, which in turn gives them a better defense. Not to mention OKC turns the ball over more than any team in the league.
Kendrick Perkins is very overrated (or has been for the longest time) but he is the anti-Noah. Noah hates going up against centers as strong and tough (and mean) as Perkins.
Durant is too much for Luol Deng.
Westbrook is no Rose but he brings a lot of what D-Rose brings to the Thunder.
Harden is an excellent all-around player. He can pass, shoot, defend, and score off the dribble and in transition. He is better than anything the Bulls have at SG (even if the Bulls miraculously had a healthy Hamilton).
Ibaka is a raw offensive player (kind of like Noah on offense with a better open jump-shot) but he can flat-out block shots and is a great transition player. Boozer and Gibson should out-play him though. And Ibaka also gets a large chunk of his PT at C while Collison plays PF.
And so you are saying that the Thunder may be a tougher matchup for the Bulls than the Heat my dear Watson?
Nope.
OKC is definitely better at C and PG than Miami but that is the extent of it.
OKC and MIA = both clearly better offensive teams than CHI but are both flawed. The difference is that OKC relies too heavily on jump-shooting. OKC has more capable offensive players than MIA but MIA has more guys who are versatile scorers. OKC has the best scorer (Durant) but sometimes Westbrook hijacks the offense.
So MIA and OKC are very similar in terms of offensive prowess.
Defense & rebounding: Miami destroys OKC.
