Resign

CB Kyle Fuller to 4 years 44 million/15.5 guaranteed
CB Prince Amukamara 3 years 17 million/10 guaranteed
P Pat O'Donnel to 4 years 12 million/5 guaranteed
WR Dontrelle Inman to 3 years 8 million/4 guaranteed

LB Christian Jones 2 years 6.5 million/4 guaranteed
DE Mitch Unrein 2 years 4 million/2 guaranteed
TE Daniel Brown to 900k

Bears sign TE Jimmy Graham to 3 years 25 million/14 guaranteed

Bears can do a lot with Graham lined up at WR/TE and in dual TE sets with Adam Shaheen brining in a guy like Graham offers some much needed help in the passing game. It can take young TE a few years to adjust to life in the NFL Shaheen can benefit from Graham.

Bears sign WR Albert Wilson to 4 years 20 million/10 guaranteed

Albert Wilson has been thriving in Kansas City for a while now in the Nagy & Reid system. Bears are going to need all the help they can get on offense in 2018 he would also be a help the other receivers with the system.

usa-today-8260129.0.jpg

Bears sign OLB Alex Okafor to 1 year 3.5 million

He's a young productive player when healthy if Bears want to bring in a veteran to help replace Willie Young & Phernell McPhee Okafor is definitely an option in this weak class of OLB free agents.

New+Orleans+Saints+v+Miami+Dolphins+JwrPdkAFMPzx.jpg

Bears sign K Dustin Hopkins to 3 years 12 million

The kicker position has been embarrassing for the last two seasons since getting rid of Robbie Gould and for some reason keeping Connor Barth for two seasons. Pace needs to redeem himself this season and take a serious looks at the kickers in this free agency.

dustin_hopkins.jpg

Bears sign QB Chase Daniel to 1 year 1 million

Matt Nagy spoke with Chase Daniel in the off season about Ryan Pace before making a choice to come to Chicago as an head coach. Daniel has an idea of how Nagy wants to run his system and could be a big help to Trubisky learning the system.

Draft

*The Chicago Bears trade 1[8] for Arizona Cardinals 1[15], 2[41], 3[79] and 2019 First Round Pick

1[15] Guard Quenton Nelson [Norte Dame] 6'5 325lbs

Kyle Long & Josh Sitton will both be in there thirties and both injury prone it's time to draft a replacement and you can't do much better with Quenton Nelson.

DAL161015_Stanford_at_Notre_Dame_0830.jpg

2[39] WR Christian Kirk [Texas A&M]

12/29/17: Kirk has 58 catches for 730 yards and seven touchdowns so far this season. Versus Arkansas, he carried Texas A&M to a win with five catches for 110 yards with two touchdowns and a kickoff returned for a touchdown. Kirk is a fast play-maker who really competes and has special potential for the NFL.

7/17/17: Kirk played well in 2016 despite inconsistent quarterback play from the Aggies. He had 83 receptions for 928 yards with nine touchdowns while splitting targets with wideouts like Josh Reynolds and Ricky Seals-Jones.

Kirk had an outstanding freshman debut for Texas A&M and earned playing time over more veteran receivers who had previous produced for the Aggies. In 2015, Kirk caught 80 passes for 1,009 yards with seven touchdowns. He averaged only 19.3 yards per kick return, but averaged 24.4 yards per punt returns with two touchdowns. Kirk is a fast, explosive play-maker. Some scouting sources have said there nickname for Kirk is "Baby Beckham" in reference to Odell Beckham Jr.

2[41] OLB Marcus Davenport [UTSA] 6'7 256lbs

1/13/18: Davenport is another prospect from a non-Power Five FBS school who has earned a Senior Bowl invitation. He has the length and athleticism to play on the edge in the NFL. The senior racked up 55 tackles with 17.5 tackles for a loss, 8.5 sacks, four passes batted and three forced fumbles in 2017. Davenport recorded 6.5 sacks as a junior after racking up four as a sophomore.

Edge defenders with length are always in demand, so if Davenport plays well at the Senior Bowl, his stock could really rise. Scouts from multiple teams have told me that Davenport is a good player and impressed them in 2017, but they thought a top-16 pick is too high for him. They think the back half of the first round is possible.

3[79] OT Brandon Parker [North Carolina A&T] 6'8 310lbs

Teammate of Tarik Cohen at NC A&T.

1/6/18: Parker is a prospect who impressed area scouts this fall. They think he has developmental potential to be a starter in the NFL. They like his size and length to protect on the edge. Sources say that Parker has received some fourth-round grades, and he could rise if he plays well at the Senior Bowl.

4. Center Frank Ragnow [Arkansas] 6'5 317lbs

1/6/18: Ragnow played well for Arkansas before a high ankle sprain ended his season early. The injury required surgery, and Ragnow is not expected to be ready to participate for the Senior Bowl. He has been invited to play in Mobile, but after missing the last five games, Ragnow may not be healthy enough to perform.

7/17/17: Ragnow could be in the running to be one of the top center prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft. Over the past two seasons, he hasn't allowed a single sack while taking on excellent competition. As one can expect coming from Arkansas, Ragnow is also a tough run blocker. He is a technician who enters his senior year having made 26 straight starts. As a sophomore, Ragnow was the Razorbacks starter at right guard. He has the size to be a guard or center in the NFL.

4. WR Deontay Burnett [USC] 6'0 170lbs

12/29/17: Burnett has totaled 74 receptions for 975 yards and nine touchdowns in 2017. He doesn't have great size, but he is a quick receiver who is a quality route-runner.

7/17/17: Burnett flashed as the No. 2 receiver for the Trojans in 2016, catching 56 passes for 622 yards with seven touchdowns. With JuJu Smith-Schuster in the NFL, Burnett could be the No. 1 receiver for USC in 2017. With a tremendous quarterback in Sam Darnold, Burnett could be poised for a big season.

5. CB Kevin Toliver II [LSU] 6'2 193lbs

1/6/17: Toliver recorded 28 tackles with 10 passes broken up and an interception in 2017. In speaking with scouts at multiple teams, Toliver is a bit of a love/hate prospect. Some sources are very down on him as they say he has first-round talent, but that he doesn't play up it or work to maximize his ability. Toliver gives up too much separation on a consistent basis. They are critical over his lack of instincts as well. Others like him and feel that he was played out of position. They say that he is a press-man corner and that LSU put him in off-man coverage way too much.

Toliver was held out for Week 1, but LSU wouldn't clarify if it was because of suspension or injury. It sounds like it is more likely to be the former. With how Toliver played in 2017, he is likely to be a second-day pick or a mid-rounder rather than a Round 1 choice.

9/1/17: Toliver impressed as a freshman and sophomore. Considering the amount of talent the Tigers' secondary has produced, it is a serious statement that he played immediately at LSU. In 2015, Toliver had 35 tackles with five breakups and an interception. As a sophomore, he totaled 21 tackles with one breakup across seven games.

The 6-foot-2, 193-pounder is a big corner who can run. Team sources have said Toliver has a first-round skill set.

6. OLB Folorunso Fatukasi [Connecticut] 6'4 303lbs

1/13/18: Fatukasi notched 45 tackles, 7.5 for a loss and four sacks in 2017.

9/1/17: Fatukasi had a quality junior year for the Huskies as he notched 43 tackles with 2.5 tackles for a loss, three sacks and a blocked kick. If Fatukasi can improve his pass rush as a senior, he could rise.

920x920.jpg

7. ILB Nyles Morgan [Notre Dame] 6'1" 245lbs

1/13/18: Morgan played well in 2017, recording 92 tackles with 1.5 sacks, seven tackles for a loss, one pass broken up, and a forced fumble. Sources have said they see Morgan as a late-round choice in the 2018 NFL Draft or a priority free agent.

9/1/17: The Notre Dame defense really struggled in 2016, but Morgan was one of the few defenders who was pretty steady for the Fighting Irish. He totaled 93 tackles with six for a loss, four sacks and three passes broken up.

I like this offseason mock, but it's bviously not realistic

Teams have given up more to trade up for a QB but yeah it's unrealistic for the most part.

Unless there's a can't miss decade stud fall to 8, this is quite the haul that you'd be a complete clown to pass up for moving only 7 spots back.

That extra 2nd is early (1st Rd talent) ...AND the 2019 1st Rd -likely to be mid Rd or better too Yeah, fleece AZ all day.

I'm all about the trade-down into the teens if an elite player isn't available at 8. You probably still get your guy, and you recoup some picks in the process.

Nelson won't be available at 15. Also, I am not sure Sitton would accept a number 2 role. He would probably ask for his release.

I should say that with the information we have right now, Nelson won't be available at 15. Still a long way to go obviously that could change things.

Greaat Mock & FA moves....Bears should go after Jimmy Graham. 2-3yr deal with decent money. Trubisky needs weapons.

Surprisingly not terrible....

I don't think Jimmy Graham will come that cheap.....

You're not cutting Willie Young for absolutely no reason!

Better edge rushers will be available in round 2.

And even with his torn Achilles, Okafor will get better "prove it" one year offers than that because the position is so thin in free agency, and the Bears aren't the only team in need of 1+. There's Trent Murphy, whom even if they pay out the ass for Kirk Cousins to stay, the Redskins will still have enough money to comfortably keep him, and if Cousins goes, hard to see Murphy playing for anybody else when the Skins have 52 in cap space to play with before anyone gets cut.

Demarcus Lawrence isn't going to be let go by the Cowboys either. They have 20 mil in space before cuts and he's their top priority. He'll probably get tagged.

The Lions have 50 mil in cap space to play around with keeping Ziggy Ansah, so we're going to cross him off the list too.

Then what? Old man Dwight Freeney, Jeremiah Attachou, Connor Barwin, Aldon Smith, Julius Peppers, and Bumarr Houston? Nigel Bradham will be let go because Philly has to shed cap going into the offseason, but he's probably an ILB in a 3-4. So unless there's a surprise cut coming we don't see, you're going to have to take one high.
