Ok this is out of left field and this is assuming Lakers don't win the title. It is a longshot and a big one at that but hear me out.

Hinrich, Noah, Miller, #16 for Gasol, Farmar, Vujacic

Lakers get a high energy, defensive bigman to go with Bynum, a tough minded defensive point guard to add perimeter defense to go with Kobe, a mid round pick to add a long athletic perimeter player at SF like perhaps Earl Clark or Terrence Williams, and Miller gives them a veteran who would be an expiring and for a year a classic triange bigman to go with Bynum.

Bulls get their scoring bigman in Gasol who passing ability and versatility upfront would work well with Rose and obviously he is a guy we had interest in before, we also get a backup quality point man in Farmar who seems to need a change of scenery. He is still a talented kid who fits well in uptempo system. Also in Vujacic we get a combo guard off the bench to give added depth assuming Gordon is gone.

Hinrich, Fisher
Bryant, Brown
Walton, #16
Noah, Odom
Bynum,Miller

Rose,Farmar
Salmons,Vujacic
Deng, (Salmons)
Tyrus, #26
Gasol, FA pickup

Really hard to see them doing anything with Gasol to me.

They aren't trading Gasol, they are a contender.

Probably right Doug and I know Kobe is high on Gasol so that makes it more unlikely. When I look at that Lakers team though if they don't win it this year I am curious where they will be able to upgrade that team. As it is they are more than likely to lose one of Odom or Ariza and both would be big losses. Plus they have an aging Fisher, a young PG in Farmar who has fallen out of favor and a contract in Walton that is probably not movable. Makes me wonder if Gasol or Bynum might be up for grabs this summer if they don't win a ring. I would be interested in either guy.

If they don't win they obviously have to make a move to get a better PG, but I can't really see why they'd move Gasol to do that. That would be taking two steps back to take a step forward.

Bynum has been unhappy with his minutes/role after coming back from his injury, so I guess there's an outside chance he tries to sulk his way out, but again, I don't really see it as likely. I think the Lakers would get a lot of offers for him anyway, despite his injury history.
