As I posted in another thread, I think poles has to go. I thought he did a good job tearing down the team, but really lacks in drafting, and FA signings. I just read somewhere about TE's contract terms, and then checked what RS signed for. If you really get into the details, they were almost the same contract, and I thought RS was a better player? Anybody on here think TE is better and was worth the swap?

Roquan is better for sure

Edmunds has an easier out after next year, I believe. Basically a 2 year deal, so a bit safer. Also seems like a Flus pounding the table type of move.

Roquan by a country mile. Edmunds was never that good. He just had that 1 above average season in his contract year. Was pretty poor, about same level as now, in his first 4 years. Bears were suckered. Guess they don't look for consistency in players.

apples and oranges. trading Roquan allowed for the tank that led to fleecing Carolina, therefore there IS NO Roquan vs Edmonds. There is only Edmonds vs. whoever else we could have picked up that NEXT FA period.

I mean if you really want Roquan over Edmons, D.J. Moore, Carolina's 1st round pick this year and their 2nd in 25 then... Nah...

Roquan. But as has been stated. No DJ Moore.

Poles isn't off the hook, however. The deconstruction was last year. So getting Edmunds and Edwards and not getting performance from them directly reflects on him and by extension, Flus.

Nicholas Morrow.
This is the indictment against Poles. Morrow replaced Edwards in Philly and looks good doing it. I'm certain he didn't cost what Edwards cost.

It's an indictment on our coaching (which I guess you can blame on Poles since he chose the HC who chose the defensive staff). But Morrow is the same player in Philly. He's just in a better system with better coaching.

I was listening to Sirius XM NFL Radio one day. Morrow happened to be interviewing. They were talking about a game he had this season with Philly where he got 3 sacks. He previously had 4 sacks in his entire career.

He said the blitzes they had schemed up where he got all the sacks were originally for their other OLB. He said during the game the LB coach noticed the offense was slanting towards the other OLB so they made the call in-game to have Morrow blitz instead of their other LB.

This type of on the fly adjustment isn't something I've seen from our coaching staff in their two season with Chicago. Coaching matters.

Yes. You can blame coaching but Morrow wasn't bad here in Chicago.

Now the fact Flus can't do anything with either Edmunds or Edwards is a problem.

Morrow wasn't good in Chicago. He was pretty much nonexistent, which as an every down LB is pretty bad

Edmunds has always been bad. Played behind the best D line in the league. Off the ball. Terrible terrible player.

Poles would’ve paid him more if he had character problems
