Pictures that prove Miller picked the puck up, via Brian Cassella

A year after Patrick Kane fired a shot into the goal in overtime to give the Blackhawks their first Stanley Cup championship since 1961, the game-winning puck is still missing.

The rubber disc hasn't been found since it was dug out of the net while the Blackhawks celebrated their victory over the Philadelphia Flyers at the other end of the ice. An auction house says the collectible is worth six figures, at least, and a Chicago sports collector is offering a $50,000 reward for its return... read more

Now he says he doesn't remember what he did with it, didn't even know he picked it up, doesn't remember, blah blah blah. If this guy won't speak up, they have to find a new lead.

Two words............... water boarding.

Or, maybe in his case, they flip him over and do some puck boarding.

The best article was written by the guy that showed Miller the photos of him picking up the puck and he still denied it. There were several shots of him that made it painfully clear even to a 5 year old that it was at the end of the championship game...and he still had the audacity to lie and then hide from the reporter later on.

By most accounts he gave it to the head ref and that is the last known location of the puck. He shouldn't be exempt from public scrutiny.

Something tells me the NHL would be a little more than upset with Miller if they saw these photos. They want that puck for the Hall of Fame and if he knows what happened with it, well he's making a huge mistake not letting them know

First let me tell you there is NO WAY he picked up that puck and didn't know what it was. These guys are WELL AWARE of pucks and so forth. They talk about them all the time. I know this for fact having SEVERAL game winning pucks given to me from any NUMBER of Refs and Linesmen through out the years.

That said first Miller Lied about it. Said he had no clue. Then they had some proof (other pictures than these just released) and the NHL suspended him. At the start of the playoffs. The NHL reinstated him, and now these pictures come out and he uses the excuse he handles thousands of pucks and doesn't remember. Lie #2. Now this asshole his officiating the SC FINALS!! A known lier? Integrity anyone? The NHL has absolutely none.

As for the investigation it's the owner of Harry Carey's that spurred on the 50k reward. He often sits in front of me and stops by to talk to the guy sitting next to me. ESPN almost DID NOT run the initial story because it was right in the time where the NHL TV negotiations were going on. They lost the or were thrown out and then ran the story.

The NHL once again looks like a little league. Good JOB NHL front office IDIOTS! Well done!

Correction. The Hockey Hall of Fame wants the puck to preserve its place in history. The league doesn't give a shit obviously.

That may change soon though. So the Blackhawks may go down in history AGAIN with another story about how something they did or were involved in changed the game. That's a cool legacy to have...shit I am starting to sound like PR McDickbag...

Miller is obviously afraid now. The Kanes don't want the puck either. They want it to go to Chicago or the HHOF.

There should be a policy in place for the SC winning puck to begin with.

Makes you wonder if this thing ever does turn up, how would anyone actually prove it's the real one. Even though I believe Miller still has it and was thinking $$$$ on picking it up (aka think Doug Mienkewicz of Red Sox in 2004 here) he's now in a position where he really can't sell it. The buyer from Miller would know it's legit cause he's getting it from Miller. However that buyer would then hold a piece of memorabilia that he wouldn't be able to convince anyone else of. Would you buy from someone who said - "I got it from the ref that picked it up"?

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers

I think they need to dress him up like Tony Danza, and stuff him in a cab outside a club in Buffalo.

Too soon?

Exactly what I was thinking.

I wonder if he took it over by the refs crease and someone tossed it in the puck bucket and then said "CRAP--which one was it?"
