All indications point to Trubisky taking this Foles thing the right way. He is being pushed and he is responding. He is studying more and practicing more. I think this will bring out the best in Trubisky and work out great for our team. Having to compete will push him, and he has not been pushed at all the first 3 years. Competition is always good. We started flat the last few years but i suspect we won't this year. This year the season starts long before the first game, this year by game one we will be in midseason mode. Trubisky will make or break this year. Picking up Foles was a great move. I'm expecting a hot start and solid season with playoffs.

I agree with general attitude of the OP but if he's studying and practicing more, he wasn't doing enough in previous offseasons. I suspect that's pure speculation on your part as we've read about him throwing and studying every offseason. As for taking it the right way, I'd like a little more of the 'bring it on', 'I'm not worried' and 'doesn't matter who they bring in' type quotes. That said, Mitch is obviously a good hard working guy and will benefit from this situation. I personally think he'll benefit more by starting the season on the bench in the savior role but whatever the situation is, I'm rooting for him.

I also suspect the team have a little more steam out of the gate but midseason form? No way with all the changes in this offseason but that's fine. I'll settle for starting the season prepared mentally and physically like good teams do. I think it will be something like that but the OL will not have had enough live snaps to be what they will become by midseason, whatever that is.

I think what's more important than Mitch is how much Nagy's improved O staff can influence him. These are seasoned guys of his choosing, not the college guys elevated to do a pro task we had previously. He and Mitch have no excuses and maybe Nagy will become a better play caller or even hand that over. Even if Foles or Mitch aren't all we hope, you can call around that and we clearly have not.

I'm with you on this. The only bad thing for Mitch is not having mini camp and stuff like that. His only issue is mental and having complete confidence in the playbook.

When he reads a basic RPO correctly, then I'll believe he is ready to rumble
My favorite was when he had a 3rd and 4. He decides to pass and misses a wide open Cohen. Decides to take off and run. Has the first down easily, but then decides to take a left turn a yard before the sticks and gets run down by a lb. Yall had to punt. I rewatched the play 5 times and I still have no idea why he took a left turn. He wasnt even close to the sideline to run out of bounds.

I hope Trubisky finally gets it this year, but they hype the 'getting better' stuff every year. Mitch is a very likable guy and has the potential to be big turnaround star in Chicago...heck in the whole leauge. But like always it's completely on him to save himself.

Everyone likes a comeback story. Especially, when it's a high character guy like Mitch.

All I've seen is the usual tweets about him working out with ARob, which is the same as last year.

- And if you believe a Reddit poster on the Bears board: "I can confirm. I was working at the Buffalo Grove high school football field about a month ago. I saw Trubisky, Robinson and Montgomery. Their were 3 other guy's there I couldn't recognize."

That's great that he has continued to play catch with his teammates in the offseason.

On a scale of 1-10, I bet Trubisky is like an 8 ready to rumble. But I think Foles is also at least a +/- 7.5 ready to rumble.

Gonna be an interesting QB competition. Trubisky has the advantage of being familiar with players. Foles has the advantage of being able to run the offense.

Let's rumble!

Pretty much the same story as last summer...until camp started.

I hope the OP is right, but I am just thrilled to have a better Plan B if Trubisky continues to look like the NFL is way over his head.

My real hope is Matt Nagy actually has a rushing attack whenever the Bears get around to seeing a football field.
