When going through customs in South Africa they stick you in front of a thermal camera and ask you a bunch of questions to see if the bloodflow in your face changes (an indication of false answers/stress). Apparently I passed, either that or they let me in because I'm a white guy...

Funny thing was that leaving the country was much, much, easier. I payed some random dude at the airport 10R (about 80 cents) and he lead me through the back corridors to my gate. No searches, no metal detectors, no lines, none of that shit...their security was fucking comical (pretty sure the dude was just a bum who knew his way around).

I really don't have a problem with the TSA rules or procedures EXCEPT that it's probably all for show. That report that came out a month or two that DHS was able to get weapons and fake bombs through the TSA 95% of the time is scary.

I've accidentally gotten knives and a box cutter through.... I can usually sneak liquids through in my carry-on that I shouldn't have.... the TSA does little but slow down air travel.

If they are not protecting us, why should we suffer the inconvenience?
