Lol TSA... last few years when I have traveled for work I bring my personal laptop to game on and I have a cooler it sits on and the first time I did this they saw it in my bag and they wanted to search my bag and I didn't want to get tazed and then cavity searched so I said "Sure" and the dude starts going in to my bag and I left the cooler at the bottom cause I wasn't gonna need it and its flat, so he messes all my shit up.... digs down, finds it, gets it out and he and another TSA agent examine my laptop cooler like they just found a fucking alien ray gun in my bag and the dude looks at me and goes, "What is this?" and I explained it was a laptop cooler and he was suspicious so I had to explain in detail how a laptop sitting on a laptop cooler works and how it helps with airflow and all that.

He begrudgingly allowed me to have my ray gun back.....

LOL

I personally have never had an issue with the TSA, but I avoid bringing things like Laptops on airplanes pretty much for these reasons. Basically I don't bring anything that will seem suspicious.

Another fun story.... when I was like 14 I stayed with my Dad for a weekend helping him with some roofing on his garage.... he gave me a razor knife and told me to keep it and I tossed it in my travel kit before heading home to my Mom's house. That knife made it through Midway airport security and on to a plane, made it through airport security in California and on to a plane, and finally the Tucson airport security saw it, searched it, and caught it. I am a white kid so they just took it away and I said sorry and that was that. But it is nice to know these fucktards don't know what a laptop cooler is and also allow razor knives on to planes 66% of the time.

The media does these tests all the time. It was close to your % that I think they didn't catch shit. They're more likely to catch the stupid shit thats banned like shampoo, toothpaste, and then question really weird looking objects like your cooler. The TSA has questioned my dad about his camera bag and searched it intensively, but give it back to him always.. But there is a reason the TSA has not stopped 1 terrorist.

Its a farce. For one, they already did the plane thing. How likely is it they will really try that again. And besides, they could just load up a private plane with explosives and take off from some field.

Well yes but if you deviate from your flight plan you have fighter jets on your ass in minutes.
