Seems the Mayans got at least something right, the shelf life of twinkees is 2012 it would seem.

Hostess Brands Inc, a wholesale baker, is again preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

This would be second court restructuring for Ripplewood Holdings-owned Hostess, which filed for bankruptcy almost two years ago and had emerged from it last September.

Irving, Texas-based Hostess has arranged for about $75 million in debtor-in-possession financing to keep it afloat during bankruptcy proceedings, the sources told the paper.

Once in bankruptcy court, the maker of Twinkies and Wonder Bread will try to reduce debt and renegotiate labor contracts, the newspaper said.

The company continues to face a cash crunch despite Ripplewood Holdings investing $40 million, while Monarch Alternative Capital, Silver Point Capital and others loaned the company $20 million late last year, the paper said.

Hostess, which carries over $860 million in debt, declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.

God I love those things, health fad taking a victim, or just a sign of the times?

What is that picture from?

I never eat the hostess stuff, mostly because we don't have it in Canada. But when I go into the States I am sometimes tempted to buy a hostess fruit pie, as long as it is peach or berry.

I knew we should have gotten TCD some Ding Dongs for his Christmas stocking when we had the chance.

I slowly graduated to little debbie as I started to love star crunch, swiss rolls and those fucking giant chocolate penut better waffer thigns.... shit. Those were my favorite. What were they called?

I liked the cream filled cupcakes too. Hate snowballs but Zombieland fuckign rules.

Used to be a huge fan of the fruit pie when I was little. Cherry all the way.

And last but not least, fuuuuck, how did I confuse the aztecs with the mayans. Jesus I haven't been getting sleep lately.

I guess they're not the Hostess with the mostest after all.

Everyone knows the chocolate pudding ones were and are the best.

It's interesting... it seems that people either love or loathe the snowball (bakery, not Mass' favorite sexual proclivity)

Actually, I do remember liking the chocolate, but I don't remember them being the best. I remember it being chocolate flavored instead of it being chocolate or something like that and you just can't fake chocolate well. It's like cough drops that are flavored, yeah they tast like the flavor but you still know the rest of the stuff is there. I'd put them at a solid 2 or 3 but I remeber cherry and some other fruit filling beign the best. (Not peach, sorry who said that)

And, it's not that it's not my favorite sexual proclivity, I just am not good at it. Bad back and all.

Hate the snowball, hate coconut. I checked the supermarket on the way home, haven't had one in years but thank God the oatmeal cream pies are Little Debbie.

Someone will buy the company just for he brand so Twinkies and Wonder Bread will survive even if the company does not in its current form.

Pretty sure it was just chocolate pudding... but I could be wrong.

And you're being too hard on yourself - Jako says you're very good at it.

Bringmepie, I would not be surprised if that does, in fact, eventually happen.
