I think this for me personally is the biggest game in 20 years for U.S. soccer. We can't go into Germany match needing any points, we just can't.
IMO we have to qualify today, that means draw and pray 4 points is enough on goal differential, or find 2 or 3 goals today. I don't think we can shut down Ronaldo, its a bad match-up for us.
But we can score.....
I want to highlight a certain player I think is the best player on the team outside of Dempsey, and maybe we can't count on Dempsey as usual if he can't breathe normally with the nose.
Chris Wondolowski is probably the best player I have seen in my lifetime in a U.S. uniform in terms of off the ball movement. His runs and high activity open up lanes for everyone and imo he makes the team go smoother when he is in. He finds a way to be at the end of crosses at the ideal point of contact, and he will make a dummy run and sacrifice himself if thats what the play requires. He doesn't rest, and he has just evolved a very professional and boisterous style of game. I like him alot,
we need Klinsmann to realize he might be his best player because of intangibles. Jurgen is preoccupied with the young Iceland kid, and he has ok size, but in my opinion the current form is not close to where Wondo has reached.
I'd like to see Wondo go on a tear, he is the type of unselfish scoring leader that could carry us to a surprising distance in this thing if they turn him loose.
