unlocking region on pc dvd

ive changed the region on my laptop several times over the years and now its lock to region 1 - usa... is there a go around to make it region free so i can use my laptop while i lay in bed and not have to sit at the tv, desktop, console....

I know you can change them by flashing the firmware.

Smashing the laptop with a hammer will alert it as to what region it is currently in.

buy a program called AnyDVD, also works with blu-ray. It unlocks the encryption on all DVDs and Blurays so region doesn't matter.

I do it with VLC. Pretty sure VLC also ignores lockouts on windows and osx as well.
