While war is Hell, and many exploits are remembered in books, or in movies, there are those tidbit moments that we often see and cant help but be amused by it. My following 2 posts will be two incidents from WWII that stand out at the moment. Any others that you know would be great to read.

December 7, 1941 Voices at Pearl Harbor: 'Air Raid! This is no drill!.' 'Chaplain, those planes look like Japs!' 'Hell, I didnt even know they are mad at us!' Incase you didnt know, up to this point, the USA and Japanese Empire was in peacetalks for months before this surprised attack occurred.

March 10, 1974Japanese Lt. Hiroo Onoda, believing the War in the Pacific is still raging, emerges from his hiding place in the Philippine jungle and is taken into custody by a policeman. When asked why he waited 3 decades to take such action, he replied. 'I never received an order to surrender.'

August 6, 1945 At 8:15am, Yoshitake Mimura, a professor at Hiroshima Bunri University, tells 500 Japanese military officers that Japanese scientists are developing a revolutionary new weapon called the Atomic Bomb. A few minutes later, there is the sound of a B-29 Superfortress high in the sky. A brilliant, pinkish light bursts over Hiroshima and the city ir virtually destroyed. How ironic is that?

I will say this will full confidence. You can almost trust that anything in history books about the fine details in a war have been manipulated to some form of political correctness or propagandized over time, and through forms of censorship.

In addition, WW2 is the most over-hyped event this country has ever been involved in. Some schmuck knows what Eisenhower said in '44 and all of a sudden he is Stephen Ambrose.

Give me WW1 any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.
