I gotta say that the guy had all the tools to be the greatest in the game but didn't have heart like Payton. Nothin against Sanders but I wish he would've kept playing, he retired too soon.

I don't think it was a question of his heart -- Sanders is always categorized as a 'loser' because he was on some terrible Lions teams and other than one game, really didn't produce in the posteason. People do forget, though, that Payton only appeared in two postseason games before the Bears dynasty began in 1984. Ultimately, Payton was the better player than Sanders. His all-around game was just better. Sanders wasn't quite the receiving threat that Payton was, and Payton was also a feared blocker in the backfield.
