This team's built to fail.
lol

That's my way of seeing it, Chandler and Love the only two big men?
8 guards? Watsup with this man?

And why didn't Stephan Curry get any minutes 2day against Lithuania? He's been the best player there in my opinion besides Durant.(No dis to Rose:) That 1st half to Lithuania is a glimpse of what's to come based on the way they built this team.

David Lee and Lopez got cut? For what to have 6 more guards? Wrestbrook, Eric Gordon, and Danny Granger should have been cut. What do they bring that Rondo, Rose, Curry, Iguadala, *** and Durant don't bring? Get some big men on there:

Aldridge, Beasley, Big Baby, Blake Griffin, Al Jefferson, Lopez, Lee, ZRandolph, even Taj Gibson.

A lot of young big men should be playing on that team since youth seems to be the key word here.

ps: I know they like Billups and probably didn't wanna disrespect em, but seriously? Do they need him? They got Rose and Rondo. Their being to nice to Billups.

I guess the roster's already set though eh?

i completely disagree.

they're the fastest team out there. they have small but tough guards. europe's league isn't as athletic as ours. if we surround ourselves with smaller faster players that are strong enough to defend big guys, we should run circles around the europeans.

european big men play like forwards. it's a far more perimeter oriented league. you want a guy who can guard a player like nowitzski.

we dont need a post player, they're just gonna zone us to death

billups is pretty much a shooting guard in the role they have him in.
beasley, al jefferson, lopez,, and z-randolph all suck.
lopez quit. blake griffin hasn't played in the nba. aldrige isn't a great player on defense. tan gibson would be a neat player to add but he's injured. derrick leee is terrible on defense but he might be able to play international ball. he's a perimeter oriented forward who can rebound.

granger is a good player, and he's capable of playing in the post, has length and girth, he's a solid defender who can hit the 3. he's out there to play the 4/3, defend bigger players that durant wont be able to, and i'd love to see him on the bulls.

curry sucks so far. he hasn't shot consistently. he's injured, and he's not better than either rose or rondo. rose is a better shooter than curry. they should have him play the 2 rather than billups. give billups all the back up minutes and allow curry to play the michael red role of usa basketball in the olympics.

Alright man, no disrespect but everything besides your 1st 5 sententeces just sounds like your talking out your ass. Al Jefereson sucks? He's the best PF in the game behind Bosh and Gasol in my opinion. Al can get 40points and 20reb in a game, who can still do that? Rose is a better shooter then CurrY? lol

Having all those guards is just confusing the offense cause noone knows their roles, that's what happened the 1st half against Lithuania. And they pushed us around like we don't have ANY big men! It was embarrassing. Oh Wait! We don't have ANY Big Men! Except Tyson whom you and I can probably bench more than. lol

al is injury prone, he's terrible on defense, undersized and overweight, and an offensive blackhole, he's a bad player on a worse team. he's inefficient, and he has trouble with bigger more athletic players. If some1 asked to trade deng for jefferson, if i was gar, i'd punch the guy in the face. Al jefferson is the injured zach randolph of the jazz.

which games of al are you watching?

curry hasn't played well, and he's shot inconsistently in the team usa basketball games. some players have trouble going from being the star to a role player. have you been watching the games? rose is one of the better perimeter shooters on this team. he has more touches and minutes than curry does. Also he can guard bigger players than curry can. We really dont need a curry on this team anymore than we need eric gordon. Michael redd is a pretty good shooter, and he didnt play a large role for team usa. It's not whose a better shooter, but who is a better fit. Curry isn't working out amazingly.

chandler is better than mcgee, so whatever. We're asking him to play a defensive role and guard the basket. You dont really need an al jefferson like player for that. (plus al can't guard a basket.)

Also you're forgetting that team usa needs people to volunteer to play, you can't complain if no bigs wanted to play for team usa besides mcgee, odom and chandler. This a season before the lockout, some people probably have other things to think about. Also I'd rather have chandler than jeff green, mcgee, and kevin love.

I had no idea "Tan" Gibson, great first name btw, was injured or that Derrick Lee played bball. I swear I saw him going 0-4 the other day as the 1st basemen for the Braves, but maybe I'm thinking of Geddy Lee. :silly:

Lopez didn't quit. He has Mono, probably from tounging one too many strippers. I agree that this team is built for speed & defense. Coach K has stressed that from Day 1. This is a team that is still learning to play together. The 08 team, though infinitely better, had almost 2 years with the same players on the team, some of which had even played together in the 06 World Championships. TO's have been a big problem for this team. They are a bit out of sink & are extremely young. Shooting is going to be a problem which is why Curry needs to get back from his injury. Curry doesn't suck btw. Westbrook & Gordon have been pleasant surprises thus far & Rudy *** looks like he might be worth that big contract after all. Make no mistake this team is going to struggle but not for lack of size rather for lack of good outside shooting.

he wasn't bad out there today. i like curry.

i should reiterate that i in no way shape or form think curry is a bad player. he's good, but he hasn't had a great performance so far. i blame that on a lack of consistent minutes and and consistent shot opportunities. rose and rondo are better than curry, and billups has more size, so

rudy *** is totally worth that contract if the grizzlies are willing to overpay and go way into the luxury tax like the magic. they're ina ridiculously small market, and he's on a rashard lewis like contract; i dont think it will work out for them.

yeah, i've been a bit overworked lately. being tired while responding to forums is a terrible idea.

If I ran the Thunder I would NOT want Kevin Durant out there playing all summer. As skinny as he is, what if he goes down to some kind of injury? It's an 82 game season. It runs until May when you're in the playoffs! It's August.

If Durant or Westbrook goes down to some kind of injury their season is going to end before it even starts.

It's not that i hate playing for country but it's just annoying. Every summer. These guys are human beings. They need rest every now and then.

They should not be criticized for not playing in the foreign games. It's not written in the Constitution that they have to go.

Let them rest.

Let them rest...

The way the lineup should be:

Paul
Wade
James
Bosh
Howard

But they all refused to play due to reasons of their own and I kinda understand, I guess.

The way the lineup should be with the current roster they have (which is a dumb roster)....

Rose
Iguadala(or Curry)
Durant
Odom
Chandler

Hi,
People say that the USA basketball team loses because they do not have teamwork. I was wondering do you think they would do better if they were to play good teams like the celtics pistons or lakers instead of allstars.

It is mainly because none of those players want to risk injury. First of all, it would be ridiculous for either garnett, pierce, or allen to play because if one of them gets injured, then the celtics chance of winning a championship is lost. Dwyane Wade is on the team but he is recovering from a shoulder injury, and T-mac has a bad back. Another reason why most players dont play for USA is because they want to rest for the upcoming season, or they want time to be with their families. This is why mostly the younger players play for USA, because they dont have families yet, they want to improve their game, and they are not prone to injury unlike their older counterparts.
