It doesn’t seem that long ago that Michael Redd spurned the Cavaliers to resign with the Bucks. It was at a point where I said to myself “Thank god, the Cavs didn’t get Redd, he’d be a great fit with LeBron”.

Redd wins the unanimous "Most Injury-Prone Player Every Year In The League" Award.

The only way he'd even be worth it would for him to be back at 100%....which even with a lockout I doubt he can do..

That would be a steal if he can stay healthy.

As far as minimum salary options go, Redd's not too bad. As far as players go...he's pretty bad. And he'll get injured like he always does. I'll pass unless he's really the only viable option.

True.....

Still, is there any real truth behind him being a viable option? Does he have interest in Chicago or vice versa? I'm curious.

(of course with the lockout in place no moves can be really spoke of...I know  )

My guess would be that Chicago has to on his list if he ever wants to win something. He's a ring chaser at this point, and with Chicago being a contender (provided the appropriate moves are made), and having a need for shooting, seems like a good fit. I guess Miami and Boston are always choices too. Or the Lakers. But potentially, he could have a bigger role here if it works out which would seem appealing to him. As for our interest in him...probably minimal.

The Gar Forman said the team wants to add shooters, Michael Redd is definitely that. But I don't know if he can even handle the grind of an NBA season since his last few season he played he kept getting season ending injuries. He would have to really have his minutes and practiced reps heavily monitored. I wouldn't mind him to come in and be the "Kurt Thomas" of the backcourt. But I don't know if he could have a "Kurt Thomas" like affect if he had to be thrust into the action.

"Not only that, but the allure of his shooting has dropped off some as well. We now have to go back into the way back machine, back to the 2002-3 season to find one where Redd managed to knock down 40% or more of his threes."

"All signs point to Michael Redd being done as a player. He no longer has the upside or athleticism of his youth, his knees are shot, and he's struggled shooting the ball for the past three seasons."

Is this serious? When does a columnist start using some discretion when judging a situation - separating those who would actually help this team from those who are simply "available".

For the veteran minimum it wouldnt be bad. Sure he might be injury prone but if he gets injured its whatever because we got him for cheap. But since the Bulls are a contender I could see him really trying to get back into it and show he can still have a role on a team. Plus if he luckily didn't get injured he could be a steal for that price.
