I hate Comcast, but I had DirecTV at one point and hated it more. Viacom vs. DirecTV and Dish Network has dropped AMC, really sucks to be a satellite user right now.
Got NFL Red Zone for free after complaining to Comcast and threatened to leave for DirecTV lol.

Sucks being without nickelodeon for the little one and Comedy Central, but I figure this will go like all the other times DirecTV has lost channels.

Well, I saw later what they meant about "saving money".
Every pay-service(cable/sat/data hybrid(U-Verse)) has a viacom contract. Everyone pays $2.75 per subscriber, except DirecTV, which now pays $2.53. So when they say "save money", it's compared to the rest, but the monthly price can still go up because of there was actually an increase, but most of that depends on the whole roll-out of Epix(yet another Encore-like movie channel.)

Some people thought that Directv were the scums but in reality it was Viacom.
