Ridley Scott isn't doing Bladerunner 2049, a much better director is. The same guy who just did Arrival.

This is all subjective, but IMO no one on CCS is more consistently wrong about everything than you.
Alien
Blade Runner
Thelma & Louise
Gladiator
Black Hawk Down
American Gangster
The Martian
I liked Arrival, but can anyone name another film directed by Denis Villeneuve, without looking it up?
Prisoners, Enemy, and Sicario.
I liked Enemy. Odd film, and more of an offbeat like for me. Prisoners was excruciatingly bad, and overdone. Sicario was over done, and a bit boring. I am ahuge Blade Runner fan, but I have not liked anything by Scott since Alien and Blade Runner.
Villeneuve is an okay director, but not great. Just something not quite right. I think it is because he is Canadian. I don't have big hopes for the new Blade Runner.

Anyone worth having this conversation with.
Villeneuve's last 5 films have averaged 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Ridley Scott's last 5 have averaged 59%.
Also, if you wanted to get into the intricacies (which I have no desire to do with you), unlike Ridley, Dennis works with Roger Deakins, arguably the best cinematographer of the last 30 years. Look what he's done since the 90s:

I'll take Denis and Roger over Ridley and ___ any day of the week. I stand by what I said.
Dragon Ball Z>>>>>The Walking Dead
Regarding the cause of the outbreak, I believe that they will use Fear The Walking Dead to explain it.
A much better show.
"Ridley Scott's last 5 have averaged 59%." Sure, just ignore the the other 35 films to fit your narrative.
Dragon Ball Z>>>>>The Walking Dead
But I'm sorry, if Scott's resume was only Blade Runner, Alien and a bunch of Steven Segal movies he'd still be one of the best directors around.
I also think that in 30 years we can compare the films of Ridley Scott with the films of Denis Villeneuve.
Which is why I wont waste any time wondering what if your post added anything to the discussion.
Current success doesn't mean future success...did you really need me to spell it out for you?
