A seemingly innocuous comment from Kevin Durant in an interview promoting a deodorant seems to have irritated and fired up Dwyane Wade.
In an interview released Tuesday by online video outlet CineSport, Durant said he disagreed with a recent Sports Illustrated ranking of the top 10 players in the NBA. Without elaborating on his reasoning, Durant said Wade, who was ranked eighth on the list, should be replaced in the top 10 by Durant's former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate and current Houston Rockets star James Harden. Harden did not make the top-10 list.
Late Tuesday night, Wade posted a photo of a handwritten note on his Instagram account. It read: "9-24-13: Kevin Durant said James Harden should replace me in the top 10 .... Note to self: Make him respect your place in history .. -- again ..." It was accompanied by a statement from Wade that read: "Don't believe me just watch."
Durant took to Twitter to respond to Wade's post.

Wade has been vocal about his desire to return healthy this season and prove he's still one of the league's top players after knee injuries have slowed him the past two seasons. During the summer, Wade underwent OssaTron shock wave therapy to help tendinitis in his knees, and he recently has been working out aggressively with trainer Tim Grover to prepare for the season.
Wade's Miami Heat beat Durant and the Thunder in the 2012 Finals. The two stars appeared opposite each other in a TV ad for Gatorade that ran in heavy rotation during this past season's playoffs.
