He's hardly going to say "Come end of the season I'm outta here, cya suckers" while the Heat are still trying to make the playoffs.

That's true, but he wouldn't have to privately say he's coming back.

And we didn't have to say resigning Ben Gordon was our number one priority in the off-season. You tell people what they want to hear to keep everyone happy.

You have to treat Wade with a little more respect than we did with Gordon.

Not in this particular situation...superstars lie just like any other player...the interests Wade is trying to protect at this time are his own...

Agreed. And it's interesting how this comes out a few weeks after there were all those stories about Wade being fed-up with Miami. Pure PR politiking.

I wouldn't read too much into this. What is he gonna do come out and say " I hate the heat, get me out now". I do however think he has a good chance of staying if the heat land a big. But its looking less likely like they will.

I would rather have Bosh (unless we get LeBron) anyway.

My top 2 picks over D-Wade are LeBron and Bosh.

In this order:

1 - LeBron (Best at his position)
2 - Bosh (IMO, Best at his position)
3 - D-Wade (top 2 at his position)
4 - Amare
5 - Boozer
6 - Joe Johnson
7 - Lee + ***

IMO, if you want to build a championship team then you need to sign a player that is best at his position, if you are spending Max. LeBron/Bosh/Wade give you that. After LeBron, Bosh is the perfect player for our team. He will fit right in like a glove.

if he's actually signing with the heat, wouldn't it make sense for him to either come out and say it/sign an extention

I hope your not infering that Kobe is a better SG. Kobe plays on a better team and might be a better shooter but he isn't a better player anymore. Wade is also #1 at his postion. Not to mention, I'd say its a toss up between Dirk and Bosh this year.

In my opinion you are off on both counts. Kobe is a better player than Wade at this time. He hasn't given up that mantle yet...and Bosh is the best frontcourt player in the business right now besides Lebron. Kobe hasn't regressed to the point where Wade has passed him...not at all. Kobe is the second best player in the league, and still the best player in the clutch...

First off, Kobe is still #1 at the SG position & still a better player than Wade. And second, if you're saying Kobe plays on a better team so that makes him better than you might as well say the same about Dirk, who is I would say is #2 in the frontcourt behind Bosh. Bosh is putting up just as many points plus is in the top 5 in rebounding & shooting nearly 53% from the field. Bosh is the best frontcourt player without question.

If its frontcourt player and not just pf. I take Howard hands down. I give up the 5 or 6 ppg and go with a 60+% shooter and dpoy.

I think Kobe has taken a step back imo. I think his team is just so good and keeps him in the top 5. Wade is just as good defensively, if not better and creates more for teammates. He hasn't been as good this year but I thought he was a close second to Bron last year for MVP.

His teammates make Kobe a top 5 player....what the hell are you talking about dude? You are not even trying to make any damn sense in this argument. Watch a game next time. Kobe hasn't lost a step...why would he? Because he broke a finger? Gimme a break...

As far as frontcourt, Bosh is having a better year than Howard...Bosh is a much better offensive player, you can't just look at stat sheets man. Howard is shooting 60% but for most of the season he was shooting under 10 shots a game!

I can see your point on Kobe a bit. Neither is clearly better than the other imo. Wade was the best sg in the league last year. He was just amazing and single offhandedly carried them every step of the way. I am going more off of what I say last year and Wade was nothing short of amazing.

No way do I take Bosh. He is better offensively (mostly this year) but Howard is a dpoy, he took a bunch of bad defensive players last year and made them the best rated defensive team in the league. Howard absolutely controls the defensive end. He is developing more post moves every year and has all offensive players around him so he doesn't have to do as much offensively. He consistently is top 5 in fg%, blocks, rebounds and fta.

You've got to be kidding me, Bosh over Howard? If the whole league went in a draft, Howard would be the second guy taken after LeBron. You can throw whoever you like around him and your team will be very good defensively (compare with Bosh's Raptors, who are the worst defensive team in the league). He draws as many fouls as anyone in the game. He's bulletproof: the guy has only missed 3 games in nearly 6 years. The worst he's shot the last 4 years is 57%. He's about to become the first player ever to lead the league in rebounding 5 years in a row.

houheffna, you'd trade all that for a few measly points a game in Bosh? I mean I like Bosh, I think he's a borderline top 5 player, but he's just not in Howard's league.

God I wish Howard would just work on his lower body strength then he would be an absolutely unstoppable beast. He needs to stop trying to jump over & thru everyone. It works half the time but he gets pushed off the block so easily sometimes it's almost embarassing for a guy of his immense talent. Is he afraid he'll lose some leaping ability if he adds an extra 10 lbs or so to his lower body?

But I have to add this too. Van Gundy does not get him enough touches. 10spg? That's ridiculously low for any star player. And that's the biggest reason why he is nowhere near as dominant as Shaq was at his age. Give him the friggin' ball Stan!
