Although I like Vrabel and wanted the Bears to go after him the moment he was available, I do not believe this article.

Ben Johnson all day. I don't want another defensive minded HC. If the Bears are to hire an offensive minded HC then I hope they take a closer look at the variables on their resume.

Is Ben Johnson the mind behind the Lions offense? Yes. Is Ben Johnson responsible for the offensive game planning and in game play calling? Yes. Is Ben Johnson directly responsible for the further development of significant improvement of a now top tier QB? Yes.

Don't just hire another Nagy because of media hype and the assumption that he had anything to do with the Chiefs success. Anyonenwho really looked at that hire closely and was honest with themselves would have understood that Andy Reid ran the offense, came up with the game planning, called the plays, developed Mahomes in season and according to Mahomes himself it was working with JIM HARBAUGH in the offseason that also furthered his development.

Matt Nagy was a glorified coffee boy. Don't hire another coffee boy who road the coat tails of a HOF HC.

Then there was Trestman who I sometimes just think was a mean spirited practical joke hire. How any franchise would even dream up that hire is/was beyond me.

Add 3 new starting offensive linemen in the offseason and I think Ben Johnson would a field day with the core talent on the current offense.

Erik Lambert saying there’s a list with Vrabel and Ben Johnson on it. See link below.

Are we to believe Warren is doing the hiring?

And he shared his list, that includes coaches he does not currently have permission to speak to, with a reporter?

Or is it more likely the reporter is simply speculating who would be on any such list, and is naming the obvious top candidates for NFL jobs?

That list should start and end with Ben Johnson. As soon as flus is fired get him in the building and don't let him leave. The question is will the Bears pay what he was supposedly asking for last year.

As I mentioned in another thread

If shanahan and/or stefanski somehow are available....id be shocked if the Bears interviewed them

Add in them passing on Johnson would be the cherry in top.

Why being negative. Poles if retained wanted to keep his job. He needs to pick the best coach possible to keep his job.

Pace picked Nagy because Nagy was a hot commodity before we found out that Andy Reid controlled everything.
