I have taken the plunge and signed up for Lord of the Rings Online.
The online MMO role-playing game now has a free-to-play model. So, why not check it out?
The game certainly looks polished and the gameplay so far has kept me coming back for more.
On the downside, the element I can't get around in these types of games is the whole leveling up system. I am looking for a diversion, not a vocation.
In the past, I tried a similar online game and found myself endlessly killing hapless creatures in order to collect experience and goods.
There is certainly some of that in LOTR Online, but it seems a little more varied and interesting.
The question is, how much of this leveling up will I have to do before I can get into the more interesting gameplay?
So, if you are a LOTR player, cut Grymori the dwarf champion some slack.
