Well, weekend getaway. Chances are if you live in Chicago you're not flying to London on Friday night and coming back Sunday.

Probably San Antonio then, I love that city. You can visit the Alamo, The Riverwalk, and Sea World all in one weekend.

It's been a while, but we used to go there all the time. We own a lot in the territory and a keep boat in the marina. Great fishing!
We've caught some HUGE muskie in there.

During baseball season, Chicago. I try to do this once a year...mostly to catch a Cubs game of course but also a day of doing something touristy in Chicago just hasn't gotten old yet.
During winter, Vegas. I've actually never been there but it seems like a day or 2 is all you really need to have a fun time.

I live in LA, so San Diego is always a nice weekend getaway. It's a 2 hour drive, and a nice place to just chill for the weekend. It's so much cleaner and relaxing than LA. Another option is Vegas, which is a 3.5 hour drive or a 1 hour flight.
