Seeing it getting pushed more and more in the media and its definitely a believable story:
Dalton signing was a panic move by Pace when he got definitive answers that Bears would not be able to trade for Wilson or Watson. Once it became certain that neither of those moves were going to happen, he made an offer that Dalton (who he figured was the best left that he could sign) couldn't refuse to make sure the Bears at least signed someone with starting experience.
Pace swung for the fences and missed, and this is the best plan C he could scrape together on short notice. Fans hoping for a series of further moves that put this one into perspective are going to be disappointed.
We should see pretty quickly if the above story that guys like Riddick are sharing is accurate, but so far it adequately explains why things have gone the way they did.
